In Topic: How did you discover the rev?

Early this year I bought my 5 year old daughter a cheapy single line at target and while flying her kite with her I re-discovered the joy of kite flying. As a kid I always wanted to try a dual line kite so I bought another cheap kite at target, this time a dual line. After snapping the lines in some decent wind I went in search on the internet for new lines, and to see what I could upgrade to since I knew the cheap one wouldnt last long. After browsing Dual lines I came across a few quad line kites and figured that would be twice as much fun as a dual line. so I stumbled upon rev kites from one of the online kite shops, and seeing the community here I knew a Rev was in my future. Hello Red Vented B series, and more to come im sure.

Hey Ant, like your stakes.

One question though, what size of kite do you have that needs line as thick as that on the drum beside them?

And For that matter, whatever kite you are using for that line couldnt possibly be held down wtih kite stakes that small.

Yeah so yeah working in IT is rather boring, and other than the Rev itself there isnt anything that specatacular about sitting at a desk with a computer infront of you all day long.

...so I decided to fly a "rev" in the server room.

behind me is a big industrial Air Conditioner that keeps the room a nice 70 degrees or so.

A close shot of the Rev .001

you too can fly your own little "Rev .001" all you need is some tape, 5 plastic coffee straws and some cling wrap.

So Mission Bay Park is the place to be. Looks like the best winds are between Noon and 6pm (7pm at the latest) after that the wind just disappeared. I was lucky enough to get 10mph+ winds on 2 days and 5-7mph on the other. There were always other flyers on the field withe everyting from revs and dual lines to fighters and sleds with line laundry.

I met up with a John(there are so many) and another gentleman whose name I forgot, and we flew our Revs for a good hour or so the first day i was down there.

So, when anyone is in San Diego, head to Mission Bay Park, it is right near sea world.
