#93456 Inverted hover?

Posted by Phlexipus on 01 September 2013 - 06:30 AM

Hi cashmere,

Hope this pic helps,

The orange leader i currenly use with the orginal handles.

The original leader (black) can also be used for achieving this length when larksheaded at an "extend" leader (white) between the handle and the original leader.

And It also prevent wear at the handle end, just replace the exender leaders...

This one i got from this forum,, stroke survivior mentioned this if i remind it well wink.png

What matter the setting i am using the knot, just in between of a roaring kite when flying fast forward and falling down when hovered LE up.

I.o.w. the kite should be silent as possible when FF flying but still hover LE up without walking backwards.

It depends on the wind to set this knot but ussually it;s the third or second knot from the end of the top leader.

On my other handles this is exactly 8.5 inch from the handle end and flies as a dream.

Keep in mind that this is my setting a.t.m. and may not work for you wink.png

fair winds.

Nathan

Did you read the just for fun tutor?

Applying a lot of brake will help a lot.

When you fly with the original leaders, the top leaders are imho too short.

Youll have to extend them and it takes a bit to get used to this but you will notice the difference.

And.. Find pilots in your area and fly with them. It helped me a lot. Succes!

Hi Cashmerecasey,

Well i am new to this as well, so what can i say to you...Welcome to this great addiction!! Patience is the key here imho. One day you think you got it all sorted out and the next day you think you will never learn.....

Experienced pilots told me that could be a part of the learning curve, Keep practicing is my advice.

As a newbie i all ready can tell that a set of race rods is allways a good choice :)

Fair winds!!

Hi all,

I am Nathan and living in The Hague, the Netherlands

Recently i put out my old parafoil kite, that was in the back of a closet the last 12 years and flew it with my son.
A lot of fun and a few snapping lines later, i checked YT and saw a rev video.
I can't understand what rock i was under the last 2 decades.
something to do with music i guess smile.png.
Now i think i've seen all the rev clips now.

Well i am saving some money for my first rev now. the vids that really makes me smile are those of the supersonic. So that will be the kite of choice.
The forum teached me it's not the best first choice but i keep in mind that i will practice on the quad wich will belong to my son first.

This one will be delivered this week. (i hope) wink.png

grtz

Nathan.
