#91742 Favorite Revs?

Posted by West Australian on 20 February 2013 - 04:01 PM

Utterly different animals, no comparing or replacing possible.

Supersonic is FAST, super high acceleration on a much higher scale than the B2 or Rev II, which are simply quicker by size but still exhibit "traditional" Rev precision... The Supersonic is a wily creature, very difficult to fly precisely, but a unique ride all it's own.

Wow John, you make me want all the Revs.

I am still really Happy with My B Series Set. :)

Very Light on this morning.

0-6km/h (0-4mph) Got the STD with 2 wrap up a few times.

Mostly just working to keep it flying. Practiced sideways hovers too.

Not easy for me in the light wind, but it was heaps of fun.

Hoping for some strong afternoon winds.

There were some nice Stormy winds yesterday arvo.

Solid Gusts up to 45km/h(24mph) with winds mostly around 25-30km/h(15-18mph)

I had the Vented with the 4 Wrap frame. Probably my Fav Setup.

The Vented is nice and calm, easy to keep under control in the stronger winds.

Did some great power dives, stopping before I slam into the ground :)

This morning was the Light winds again.

So Out came the STD on 2 Wrap (3 Wrap mid LE)

A bit of work to keep it flying at times, but a nice morning.

Talk about HUMID!  Singapore was crazy, like all of my skin turned into a faucet... It was all I could do finish that performance, thighs and hamstrings were SINGING for relief halfway through.

I absolutely LOVE it, yes please, may I have another? <grin>

Ian and Rob, you guys coming to the Redcliffe Kite Festival in May, near Brisbane?

A full iQuad six will in attendance, would love to see you there. wink.png

Way to Go the extra mile there John.
You do great performances.

Would love to dude, but the finances do not permit Travel to Brisbane.
(4,400km or 2800mi - 2 day drive - or an expensive plane trip)
Would be great to see you guys in person one day.

Also John, Thanks for the B Series.  :)

Thanks for the Comments John, It means a lot.
Catching up with Rob has been a Huge help.
That first day out he gave me so much help. Tips, pointers, etc.
Also he gave me the confidence to Try Flying Quad Again.

Yeh Thanks Kwmf, Ive seen lots of the Zero wind videos, it is pretty cool stuff.

I don't have a Zen though, or an Indoor.

Hi REVflyer,

I have limited equipment, but do not consider myself poorly equiped. I do fly the STD B in very light wind. Just not in the mood for a Zero Wind Flight the other morning.

And I mean Zero Wind. The little spinner on the top of my Wind Meter would not even move.....

I have to point out that my single line SUL Gliders Will Fly easily in Zero Wind, and Infact did fly on the morning in question.

Ok Dude if you want to run around in 100F+ 70% humidity go for it.......

Longer Handles and some Short 50# Lines are on the wish list.

Also give me a break... I have only been flying Quad for a few weeks, and I Have Not missed a weekday fly yet.

I will ease myself into the Lighter winds, For now I have been flying in 2mph winds and I consider that Ok.

I had a Sweet Fly Yesterday Arvo though.

Winds 5-20km/h gusting to 35km/h lots of choppyness but heaps of Fun.

Vented with 4 wrap LE and 3 Wrap Verticals.

Practiced lots of Driving forward to the edge of the wind and reversing to the centre, tight spin and go the other way.

Awesome flight.

Went out again this morning too.

3-8km/h winds fairly consistent. Great for the STD with 2 Wrap Frame.

Lots of Side and Inverted Hover Practice.

Could be some stormy winds here this arfternoon, I look forward to that.

Yeh That's why I have Ultralights. No UL Quad though.

Too Humid for running around this morning.

Been catching lots of Air time. Had a second Fly on Friday Arvo, only short, but the winds were nice and strong.

Had a quick fly on the Weekend too 44degC (111degF)

Mild Winds. Good fun...

Flew again this Morning too.

It was very mild with regular times of Nothing.

I had the Standard B with the Full 2 Wrap frame in. I really need some Light lines though, It was hard work with the 80# x 85' lines.

The wind slowly became more consistent and stronger, so I switched the LE to the 3 Wrap.

About 20min later I packed up the STD and pulled out the Vented with the 4 Wrap LE and 3 Wrap Verticals.

It was a nice Varied morning where I got to fly a bit of everything :)

Awesome Morning flight today.

Light winds, fairly consistent.

I set up the STD B series with 2 wraps in everywhere except the centre Leading Edge.

(just for a quick setup)

80# 85' lines. (Shortest and lightest I have)

I had to work a bit to keep it in the air, but all in all it was fairly easy. I do have a fair bit of light wind experience on Dual and single line.

It was calm and cool.

A very relaxing and productive flight.

Got some really good inverted hovers and slides in the light winds too. :)

Also Tried out Power Dive and Brake this morning. Went really well
