In Topic: Rev 1.5 SLE with a SUL frame

Steve,

There are only minor differences between the 1.5 standard and SUL sail. One is the weight of the bridle (high tech bridle line vs spectra) and the other is perhaps the weight of the leading edge (3.9 dacron vs 1.5 dacron). I have a 1.5 SLE (standard) sail and I keep a set of both 1/4" SUL (Professional Use) sticks and the 1/4" standard (Ultra Light) sticks. The only Rev with SLE rods is my vented. I use the spare SLE rods as tomato stakes. I like the performance of the Rev with the smaller diameter sticks.

however, ribbon tails are awesome. GKPI has some ribbon tails that are inexpensive and don't add the drag to the Rev, and seem to add just enough when putting on a show.

Transition tails are also pretty cool on a Rev. I have 2 48' red, black & white transition tails on a red, black & white Rev II that is amazingly fun and gets a lot of attention when the wind is ripping. I've also made a couple transition-style tails in colors matching my vented 1.5 and a progressive stack that really add to the looks of the kite.

Know were we might see some more pictures of this amazing event?
:blue-grin:

Check out Jim Martin's Fotki Page. Jim is the keeper of and safety officer for the US mega flag and took it to Kuwait from Charlotte, NC. There are also some good shots at Dave Gomberg's Weekly Update page. Dave has links to a couple videos as well. It looks like it was an amazing experience!

What is the design in the vertical panels. I can't make it out....

Check your B-series, Doug, you'll recognize the IQuad logo printed on the verticals.

Don't forget Hunter Brown at Blowing In The Wind in Wilmington, NC for the Cape Fear area. The Cape Fear Kite Fest in November would be a good place for a clinic. There's a lot of quad interest in the WACKOS.
