About Me

I am new to kiting, having gone through five 2-line kites in the past 6 months. I am very intrigued by quadsI bought a EXP for my son, Ian, and I take responsibility for starting his kite addiction. I am really impressed by the willingness to the help he has gotten. I had considered getting a Mojo but I could hardly find any info to work with. The Revs have a great deal of info, and a great community of people willing to share, making it well worth the little bit of extra money.So I ordered my first Rev, an EXP, and plan to get a B-Series in the near future. I look forward to meeting others on the Dark Side.

I am an architectural designer, currently working on 2 hotels and a fishing pier just north of Miami Beach. I was previously a bicycle mechanic and custom frame builder.

My other current hobbies include bicycling, guitar , but I have also been into sailing (Hobie Cat), sport motorcycles, fishing, and snowmobiling (now only when I can get to Wisconsin in the winter).

Kite Day Festival - Miami Beach, Feb.17, 2013

I am hoping I can interest some other Dark-Siders in attending a Kite Day Festival to be held at Haulover Park, 10800 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach (Bal Harbour) on Sunday, February 17. This festival typically draws a lot of families and single line kites. I am hoping that we can create some interest in Rev flying by showing people what a quad can do.

The festival is sponsored by Skyward Kites. The owner, Dan, has a store/trailor located in the park which is between Biscayne Bay and the ocean, so almost any wind direction is good. You can get more info at www.skywardkites.com or by calling 305-893-0906. Weather is typically beautiful, you can fly over grass, and if you get bored you can check out Miami's only nude beach just across the street. I hope a couple of you can make it and see if the dark side can draw in some fresh bodies.

Newbie in South Florida

Hi to everyone on the Forum,

After buying my son Ian an EXP for his birthday, I decidedto take the Rev plunge and ordered an EXP for myself. I was originally going toget Ian a Mojo or other cheaper quad, but I was so impressed with the amountand quality of support here on the Rev Forum that I ordered a real Rev instead,and I am glad I did. Ian posted a question here and got tons of great adviceand contacts in Wisconsin (many thanks to Jynx for giving Ian his first lesson).

I would like to meet other Rev pilots here in South Florida(Broward County). Can anybody give me some referrals? Thanks in advance.
