Maybe I'll stop by on Sunday to see what's up. Will people be flying around the playground area?

Does this site have a search feature--I couldn't locate much on OSOW in LSP or if there is a Jersey Crew thread, etc.

Thanks again

Quite possible, as I have Columbus day off. I'll be checking the wind forecast, though. Monday doesn't look like the best.

I'd certainly try to help, but I'm a beginner relative to many of the other folks in the forum.

Thanks for the cool wind link.

How much wind do you usually fly in?

It was 7-8 mph when I flew the other day--seemed to have enough to lift but my steering was crummy.

Here is the google maps location:

Many experienced flyers use LSP, as it has the best wind accessible to both NYC and Northern NJ. You can even get there by public transportation (PATH and light rail)

I flew there today alongside the "rev riders" and others, who were quite kind to me and my 10 year-old son.

Several apparently like to fly by the playground toward the North end. I prefer by the WWII memorial statue at the South end, where there is water on the West and South sides of the field. Either way you get dramatic skylines, statue of libery, NY harbor and even a view of the Verrazano bridge.

If you are coming out, post a note here. I often come out around 6-7 after work (in NYC), if I can get away.

I'm having trouble getting my 1992 rev to fly right (likely pilot error). Are you or anyone else going to be flying at Liberty State Park around Columbus Day weekend?

We fly by the jungle gym area with the bathroom. you make that first left on freedom way ( i think that is what its called) when sunset is later in the day we will fly during the week also!

I think I see the playground area on Google Earth--there appears to be a bunch of clear areas to the south and one smaller area to the north.

What part of the park do people usually fly at--I used to fly at the SE area near the monument (it looks like there are a lot of newly planted trees along the central lawn area now)?

Likely most people fly on the weekend,--back in the day I used to stop by during the week after work.
