Pretty much all the advances in design come with the normal "B". The biggest being those vertical panels. They help focus wind to the center of the sail for better loading, IMHO! "B"s also  have that slightly curved leading edge, instead of that straight style on EXPs or SLEs. Changes the sail shape and makes those vertical panels work in the design.

Plus if you do like a color combo, you can  get all 3 sail models in the one style color combo!!

Got to agree with Paul on one of his points - not enough are willing to play with a Zen long enough to realize it's potential! Just because it feels "different" is no reason to discard or disregard it!! I understand the issue - not enough have even flown a Rev 1 to feel the distinct "difference" the big wings have over the smaller 1.5 size! MHO!!

Actually close!! Dark blue stripes and just a bit lighter for the middle panels!! ani_idea.gif

Decided to try some on the Zen - still in testing mode! Weather has drove me indoors, so not much airtime outdoors to give you any real idea of like/dislike! Does seem like the frame stays stiffer with them, but I also use a hybrid frame with mine!

Anyway - jury still out!!!

That's the problem for fliers - there isn't a hard copy on what rod to use when! It really is a "feel" thing! Leads to experiment and finding your own preferences! What I like may be terrible to you, what you like may be nothing like what Paul uses (REVflyer)! Partly why so many styles of rod are offered - to find that unique combo of equipment that fits your style and flying "feel"!

Don't be afraid to try any rod, at any time, in any sail - unless just totally inappropriate for the conditions, That way you might find something that works for you!!

PS: I've used black race rods in my midvent at close to 15 mph, they are plenty strong enough! Just watch your LE for excessive bend, that's your real indicator of needing to change frames or sails!!

I'm floored!!!

Just got home from an indoor flying session and my phone was flashing a message signal! It's from Lolly, telling me that one of the family has contacted them to make me an Indoor Rev!!! ME??!! My choice of colors too!! You don't know how many hours I've spent dreaming on that colorizer, all the while my budget says nope ain't gonna happen! And yet it is happening!! Now!!!

Thank You to whomever you are!! I will fly it with as much passion as the one I have now and honor the spirit in which it was given!

Still in disbelief ....!!!!

Again - Thank You!!

#95544 Revolution ZEN

That's right - up to you!! A Zen is a great tool, but you still have to fly it!! Light wind flying is a real test, you can't just stand there and expect to fly! I put it this way - There's no free lunch, just because you have a Zen or SUL! No matter which you fly, feet got to move to get results!!

Besides - it's a great workout!!

Glad I could help out!!

The Xtra vent will handle wind speeds of over 30 mph! I know - I've flown in gusts ranging from 30 - 35 mph! It becomes uncomfortable for the flier before the kite gives up! I don't recommend flying in those winds, but it is possible!

Prefer race rods in my std, not so much for wind range, but for the flex feel! All the "wrap" rods have a similar feel across the spectrum of 2,3,4 wraps, just a change in the amount of flex per wrap. To me, the race rods have a completely different flex and feel to them!
