End of a kite

25 September 2009 - 03:59 PM

Just got back into kiting after a lengthy layoff,on a recent flying day i realized a few of my older kites are no longer fuctional in particular My Peter Powell Mk2 useed to fly great and cost a fair $$ but the sail is worn out the rods no longer fit,its basically more trouble than its worth, but ive never thrown a kite in the garbage before,is that the final alternative to a worn out kite??

Got the kiting bug around 20 years ago and bought all the popular kites at the time Hawaiins,Peter Powells,Dyna kites and Flexi foils etc, havent flown them much over the past 10 years but a friend of mines exuberance over kiting has reawakened the passion. The last kite i bought way back when was a Revolution kite i forget the model name but its about 4ft from end to end,i havent flown it in ten years and remember it being a real hoot to fly until i broke one of the lines,i replaced the line but it never flew as well after the repair it was very reluctant to make a turn, once i get it out again i'm hoping the mistake i made was just placement of the down spars..
