Is that information available online? I'm very curious about what he found. Thanks.

Very interesting topic,
John

You are right again John, that top rubber sleeve is a poor way to hold the top of the main spar i can fix that and a picture of the set up would get me straight on proper positioning of the three cross spars..Any one familiar with a Peter Powell Mk2? .. Doing a bit of reading comes up with this history of Peter Powell ..

Kind of a sad ending,i think Pete needs to get back into kiting..
Also reading up on PP kites they seem to be becoming quite the sought after vintage kites, think i'll resurrect the kite.

Cool idea!

Gotta point out though... A Spinoff is not a Hawaiian. ;)

Hawaiians are the large team kites with battens, Spinoffs are the keel-less kites often seen with sunrise or sunset graphics.

Either way it's cool, but you may want to be specific about what kites you're thinking about. :)

Never gave much thought to it but I always thought my Spin off was just a different model of a Hawaiian kite, apart from the lack of the extra set of mid wing down spars its identical to the Team kite and made by the same company (Top of the Line)

Wind??Montreal has to be the least windy place on Earth, think we've had 1 windy day this year  Which might be great for these new fangled ultra light stunt kites but my older kites wont even get off the ground in anything less than 10mph.
