#94606 Lines for Rev SLE 1.5 for beginner

Posted by Reef Runner on 15 March 2014 - 09:02 AM

Yep, I see what you mean.  Got to be a tough spot to fly in.  No way the wind isn't swirling in there.  ani_wallbash.gif

Just for the heck of it, go out and cut yourself four or five small saplings, 6 - 8 foot long, and sharpen one end with a hatchet.  Then attach a 2 or 3 foot piece of surveyor's tape, to the other end, and go stick these in the ground.  Put one on your right, one on your left, one to the right of the kite wind-window, one to the left of the kite wind-window, and finally, one in the center of the wind-window, just out past where your kite travels.  Now, as you fly, take a look at the tell-tales on the sticks, an you'll probably be amazed at how many different directions, the wind is actually blowing...............(just something to do, one day when you are bored)  ani_victory.gif

120's were the right choice for you, CB..............IMHO.   They will be much easier on you, during the learning process, but then, there's that long wind-up afterwards............again, good luck ani_victory.gif

Longer the lines.............the greater the reaction time you get, when something goes south ani_wallbash.gif

I can only hope those kites went to new homes and will be added to someone else's count here soon. Otherwise...Bummer! sad.png

Mine went to a new home, for sure, but I don't know if the new owner, is listing his here in the Global Rev Count ?  ani_victory.gif

Gotta keep em in the sky, if you're not flying them yourself  !cat_shy.gif

Is the master list no longer the first post of this thread? It doesn't look very up to date (and I'm not even on there yet).

@dragonfish   -   The whole system of keeping track, is currently being re-vamped.  It will eventually be updated to take into account all of the new entries, and as I understand it, WE, the users/members, will be responsible for entering our own (correct) data, which will be automatically tabulated.  I may be wrong, but in my communications with Barton (who has taken on this task), this is my general understanding.

All along, there have been posts, advising us to continue updating our totals, AND, there is a note, back in the initial post, at the top  of the list, to this effect - "*list is updated on occasion, the last post included in totals is #1841 in this thread, by makatakam.", and that post (#1841), is dated July 27th, 2012.

I believe this project has taken a bit more time, than was initially expected, but I have all confidence that it will eventually be completed, and it will be great...........just continue posting updates, as you've been doing in the past, and they will end up in the total count, upon completion.

@Barton.........if I've mis-stated anything, please correct me............I know you've got your hands full ani_victory.gif

#92966 B2 vented and my GoPro

Posted by Reef Runner on 07 June 2013 - 02:20 PM

Steven,

That was really nice..........I was at the coast this week, and a couple of days, I had all of my B2's out, at the same time.  Standard, Mid-Vent, & Full Vent.  Had em all staked out so I could fly each of them, and switch off quickly.  That was really enjoyable.  I also run the 4-wrap rods in the vtd sail, especially when the wind is cooking.  I do use the regular B2, 11" handles, though..........

Standard - Black Race Rods

Mid-Vent - 3-wrap

Full-Vent - 4-wrap

Again, very nice video...........ani_victory.gif    B2's Rock

Then there's the gusty high wind days....

That's when the B2 would really be cooking...............cat_lol.gif
