In Topic: How long before it stays airborne?

I guess what I was really asking was how long did it take others before they felt "in control" of their first rev as opposed to constantly reacting to what it's doing in the air?

I still dont feel in control when trying new stuff. Stick with it mate. I have been flying on and off for at least two years. The first 6 months I flew the rev solidly but now it is proberly once a month or so. It proberly took me about 10-20 hours before I could hold basic flight with out hitting the ground to oftan. Then a good 50-60 hours before I could hold any form of inverted hover (that being self taught as there are no other flyers near me). Like everything, some people learn quicker than others.

Haha I love Popey's buggies and the dominator is a great buggy to play in. I know someone that has one and he lent it to me for a days flying. I have flown a 2-4 in a buggy. Was great fun actually. I did find that if you are spending a lot of time in a buggy the 2-4 was not a good option. Most of the time when I am buggying for a while I harness into the kite so there is not the same strain on my arms and I can kite for longer... a lot longer.

I have been thinking about getting a 2-4 again as that was a lot of fun to fly. I was new to buggying when I tried. This made things a little harder as I was trying to control the kite as well and trying to control where the buggy was going. It depends on what kites you are currently have in your quiver. If you have some very lifty kites, then there is a good chance you will have an OBE (Out of Buggy Experiance).

Hey Dave,

Not really sure if there are many down your way. If you keep an eye out in the EK forums, you will see that here are oftan trips that the buggiers make from ACT and a lot of the sydney guys head to 7 mile beach. I think a couple of thoes guys fly the revs as well but they will be wanting good wind so they can go fast. Have not looked at where Narellan is until today, wow you are a long way inland.

The other option you can try is the AKS. Looks like they have regular fly days at Tania Park, Rooty Hill, Shoalhaven and Orange. Dont know what the closer ones are to you as I have not really looked that much. If they have any members that are flying rev's they should be able to let you know and where they are.

The final option is something that I have been trying to do. Talk your mates into learning to fly kites. :D
