First real session with my new Rev.

09 August 2008 - 02:21 AM

Well guys, some of you might have read the post I put up about line set up yesterday with my new Rev "B" Series. As suspected the problem was down to trying to fly in very low winds. I have been out and managed an hour and a half this morning before the clouds opened up. The winds were gusting from about 10 MPH to 20 MPH so I treid setting the "forward" lines on one of the middle knots after fitting the 3 wrap rods. This setting only necessitated one small change on the "forward" lines to reduce the power slightly. The kite flew like a dream! I have managed reasonable hovers, forward and reverse flights, side slides, reverse landings and launches, controlled spins tip stands, tip launches and controlled inverted flying. None of these manouvers are perfect by any manner or means, but on the whole I am delighted with the progress that I have managed in such a short time. Much of this has to be put down to the manouverability and quality of the Revolution B Series Kite, so now it looks like my Delta Stunt Kites might find themselves going into "hibernation". I would just like to finish by saying Thank You All for the help and advice you all gave me on the choice of kite!

Lines on a "B" Series Revolution.

08 August 2008 - 12:38 PM

Hi Guys, I just got my first Revolution today, a brand spanking new "B" Series in Lime and Black. The wife has seen very little of me as I have been up on my "flying field" for most of the day. I am delighted with the kite but I have a little queery about the set up. I have only had very light winds today, just about 2 - 3 MPH top whack and have had difficulties keeping the kite up in the air at times. I have had to set the "forward" lines on the knot nearest to the handles and then, to get the kite to launch I had to shorten the braided loops on the lines at the bridle end. I checked the lengths (A new set of Lazer Gold - 80 foot lines) of the lines before I set the kite up to make sure that they were all the same length, which they were. Is this normal, or is it just because the winds were so low.
P.S. (I was flying with the 2 Wrap Rods in the kite to make it lighter)
Your help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Praise for a very good Revolution Retailer.

Well guys, I've just received my first Revolution kite which I bought from Kiteworls Ltd over here in the UK. I don't know if it's normal practice to put up a "Name and Praise" thread on here, but if it's not I'm sure that the moderators will let me know and I appologise in advance. I ordered a Revolution EXP last Friday, then on Monday I changed my mind and asked if I could upgrade my order to a SLE, Steven at Kiteworld was so understanding and patient, and was happy to allow me to change the order. As of this wasn't enough to "try their patience" I changed my mind yet again and phoned them up to order a "B" Series Revolution instead. Michael dealt with me that time and, rather than being a bit annoyed with me for "messing them about", he showed so much patience, help and understanding while assuring me that they were only too happy to help me to get exactly what I wanted. Well, that was yesterday lunchtime and lo and behold, UPS were ringing my door bell at 11.00 o'clock this morning with my new B Series Revolution.
In my opinion, service, patience and help like that which I was showed by Kiteworld deserves praising.
I have to add that I am in no way attached to Kiteworld, except for the fact that this is one very very satisfied customer. Thank you Kiteworld, you have made this man a very very happy little egg!

Which Rev Kite for a beginner?

28 July 2008 - 07:15 AM

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and Revolution Kites. I have spent quite a time Power kiting and buggying but due to a buggy accident I am selling up my power kites and buggy so that I can go over to flying a Revolution kite. I already fly twin line delta stunt kites and have experience with 4 line kites. The advice that I am looking for is:
Which model of Revolution kite would you all suggest as the best for me to start learning with? I do not necessarily want the cheapest as a "better" or more advanced model will save me from upgatding later. At the same time I can't afford the most expensive on the market. Also what UK Revolution Dealer is the best to go to and finally, are there any places I could possibly find a pre-owned Revolution Kite as a starter model?
Sorry this is a bit long winded but I love my kiting and don't want to buy the wrong one or one that isn't suitable for me.
