belated gifts

03 June 2009 - 01:31 PM

wel, the wonderful man in the big brown truck stopped by the house yesterday and dropped off a long package that i had been waiting on for about a week.

Inside that box were 3 things... a shirt, nice

and a rev roll up bag...
and the custom rev 2 i ordered :)

So needless to say someone is a very happy boy right now lol, now if only there was enough wind to fly it...

new quad handles?

03 November 2008 - 10:35 PM

i've been browsing around for some new handles just for kicks so i have an idea as to what to expect when i get new handles. I came across a pair of quad handles that are 14" acrylic handles.

they apparently are TC handles and i wasnt sure if anyone out there has used them or know any information about them.

i saw the handles on [into the wind] if anyone needs the link i can add it for your convenience

Leader adjustment?

01 November 2008 - 10:44 PM

i finally got around to typing new leaders for my 13' handles and sat there today finding the settings thatworked the best and i think i can say that ive found the "butter zone" for me:
-uppers all out, brakes all in for high wind
-uppers all in, brakes all out for light days
-uppers all out, brakes in 1 of 3 knots for all days in between give or take a little dependant on wind

i added an extra 2 knots to all of the leaders on the 13's i use regularly so i could have a marginal degree of adjustment. each knot is about 1 inch apart...does that sound like an alright set up?

sometimes i notice that i have to adjust my flying style (more precise or more wild per-se) is this normal?
i notice that im not as precise as i'd like to be but i'm hoping practice will help...but i'm open to any pointers anyone might be willing to offer

what is kite flying to you?

19 October 2008 - 07:21 PM

hey all,
couldnt find a thread on what kite flying is to the individual persons so i thought i'd start one.

To me kite flying is more than a hobby; its a release for all the frustration and anger in my life. When i go flying, all the problems in life go away... for that moment in time, nothing else matters- not the mortgage, not my stutter, not the phone bill, not my crew and all of their drama...for that moment in time everything goes away and for that time...im free.

Kite flying is fun and relaxing for me, its more than just a time to relax...its something i enjoy doing that also keeps me sane and a docile being lol.

peaceful bliss has been found; in a loving friend, and a much beloved activity.

So i ask this of you...What is kite flying to you?

problem with anniversery 1.5

13 October 2008 - 08:46 PM

hey everyone,
i got back from a good friends cabin and i pulled out my new 20th annversery for a quick flight; but to my surprise it was sent to a wind of change without being signed  ...im not sure how it happened but i know mistakes are unavoidable and one will turn up eventually so i understood. i called the shop and told them the problem and the person i spoke to was apologetic and told me to ship it back to them and they would send me a new one signed and everything. i was very impressed by their level of professionalism and attention to making any problems that arise, right. i look forward to working with said shop any time in the future when i look to acquire any kite related merchendise.
