Does your jacket still fit? I bet you'll have to have the sleeves lengthened.
You get quite a pull in those winds, yeah?

Ended up around 300 yards from where I started. Walked back then did it again. After about 2 hours it was hard to hold on any more. But to much fun....

Thanks all. Did have a great birthday. Well a few days after my birthday. Worked 16 hours on my birthday. So we went out this weekend. Got an Itouch, but nothing else kite related. Thanks for all your best wishes.

Tried to put some pics up but did not work. Had a great time today. Lots of sun and ok wind. About after three the wind just died. Left after that. But lots of kits in the air and at one time counted 11 revs in the air just not flying in the same spot. Had a great time and will be back next year.

In Topic: Beach Flying ...

I've been listening to others rave about how great it is to fly on the beach. So, since we're vacationing in Traverse City, I had my first opportunity to try out beach flying. I went down to the public beach on the shore of West Traverse Bay ... a beautiful bay on Lake Michigan. No swimmers today ... except for some ducks you can see in the water below my kite. No sun bathers ... I'm told they haven't seen the sun in weeks. Got to say that I don't see what everyone is raving about ... maybe it's just my timing!

But, I was able to use my new kite from JB (Victoria) for the first time ... thanks again John. It was kind of neat to see a white kite with two lime colored slices flying around with a pure white background.

That's my home town. Kind of miss it some times. But not when I look at the weather. Flown many a kit from that beach. Hope you had a great time.
