#87428 Like Button

Posted by John Barresi on 09 April 2012 - 09:20 PM

"Like" or share buttons were incoporated into later versions of Invision forum software such as being used on Kitelife.

Is that format alright with everyone?

We can upgrade when Rev is ready, just a little work to get 'er done. ;)

#86092 New web site for Revolution

Posted by John Barresi on 18 January 2012 - 10:29 PM

Hi friends and family!

Sitting here at the KTAI show with Ben, we just went all through it and I'm pleased to announce...

Rev has just rolled out their new website (produced by Codemunk.com)!

No more "the shape..." splash screen on main URL, take a look - http://www.revkites.com

What I'd like, for those who are willing, is to have you bash your way around the new site and let me know if there are any broken links, etc.

Suggestions are welcome too, but my first concern right now is just to make sure I don't have anything NOT working. ;)

Thanks guys, enjoy - spread the news. ;)

#85794 Trying to get permission to use facilities?

Posted by John Barresi on 26 December 2011 - 08:50 PM

I got into our local community rec center... Their basketball gym doesn't see full time use, and it's a community venue (sport, art, kids, etc), not a "sports" venue.

#83669 Terminology and Definitions

Posted by John Barresi on 07 September 2011 - 04:04 PM

Yes, soul flying refers to a person who flies to music with no set choreography.

In the school of flying I came from, soul flying is literal - flying with soul, visibly, with or without music.

Remember though - the word soul opens it up for personal interpretation, by it's very nature. :)

#81776 Indoor tutorials

It's all a matter of available time and funds for space rental...

July is very busy for me, it's hard to estimate when you'll see more vids, but hopefully within the next 30-60 days. :blushing:

It's not a B-"Series dualie", Kymera is a different animal, different company (Into The Wind), but from the same dude. :)

Heard he' a punk, but his kites are alright. <grin>

3v lithium watch battery. 2030. ultra bright LED. repeat until you have enough.

Here's how we do our lights, as Bazzer describes...

Of course, has has a couple more tricks with conductive gel and adhesive pads that make it all work a bit better in application. ;)

In my experience, light wind flying is 80% pilot technique and 20% choice of equipment.

#66381 let's talk about radios

Posted by John Barresi on 21 February 2010 - 12:27 PM

Wow, great info coming out here... Thanks for starting this topic Bart!

Also, a reminder for all - SPARE BATTERIES - always make sure you've got enough. ;)

Also, head sets are another consideration:

On iQuad, we typically use the ear buds with an over-ear hook to keep them in place... Full on headsets are okay too, but the "stick-in" ear buds that so many folks like have a tendency to fall out without warning, and in a large mega fly, there is no opportunity to land and stick 'em back in.
