Happy Birthday Ben

It's finally here. You're a year older, though it really doesn't show. :P
Hope you have a great time @ KP6. ;)

20th Anniversary Event

12 February 2008 - 10:38 AM

I was wondering if Revolution Kites is planning a 20th Anniversary event? It seems to me there should be a 20th Anniversary event on some California beach this spring or summer. This event should also include breaking the North American & World Mega Fly records. That would be a nice 20th Anniversary present for the good folks at Revolution Kites.
If one isn't already in the works we should get started organizing one. I've never put anything like this together but am more than willing to help in any way I can.

Mislabeled Rods

16 January 2008 - 02:43 PM

Is it possible to get rods mislabeled? I was weighing my 4 wrap rods to get an idea of what they weighed and 3 of them weighed 24 grams and one weighed 19 grams. The 19 gram rod has a thinner tube wall than the 24 gram rods. Is the 19 gram rod really a 3 wrap rod with a 4 wrap label?

Line Sets

14 January 2008 - 07:40 PM

I'm getting ready to make some line sets and was wondering what line you like to use. With my dual line kites I use Shanti. My Revs came with Laser Pro Gold. The LPG seems to be stiffer and not as slick as the Shanti.
I've never used Berry Blue.
Thanks for your input.

Developing Skill Sets

31 December 2007 - 02:25 PM

Before I got my kites I did a lot of reading about skills. The thing that stood out most was John B. saying "own the hover". That was the thing I started on and work the most on still. After I got the upright hover fairly controlled I started working on hovering on a wing tip and then inverted. Next I started doing clockwork. After I could do 12-3-6-9-12 in both directions I started working on slides and slow smooth center axis spins. What basic skills should I be working on next? Is it time to start working on precision patterns?
BTW,
I'm getting better at the one handed flying too. I can do an inverted launch, rotate and fly away one handed now. :sign_kitelife:
