#82909 Me flying my B-series mid vent

Posted by Murph on 11 August 2011 - 11:33 PM

A productive evening for the Dutch 'Air-4-ce' I see.

Oh those Mid vents are calling to me again!

...I like that drainage pipe bit, of course me I'd be trying to slide my rev inside it ...thinking that might explain why my kites are tattered and shabby at this stage Posted Image

Wot?! Those lamp posts and flag poles .....how could you have resisted?! A better man than I Posted Image

Again that flying style, me likey, wish I was as sharp ....love to see more of those close-ups too and how about some pilot, handle shots in the mix too. I might learn some new moves that way Posted Image

Looks like a couple of false starts got in there. Unless someone did want a placemark in Mali, and another off the coast of Liberia, they might be removed. (edit) Looks like someone has tidied them up.

Aye, t'was me ...doing a bit of housework Posted Image

Good to see a few getting behind the mapping idea ....hopefully a few more will.

Think I may have mentioned the Revolution Cup when you where over in August.

I knew I had heard it off someone but couldn't remember where from.

Couple of things, that's five Years before TFS ! High Performance have a lot to answer for

I should've check before posting.....I suppose shouldn't really take the uploaders description as gospel.

But you lads are there to keep us honest Posted Image

And finally no one can moan about Frogs Chorus ever again FACT !!

Not showing my age or anything but was that Charlies Angels theme playing from say 1m50s on?!

Not much to go on really, but from what I can gather its 'Team Flying Colors' from Japan @ 6th Shonan Coast Stunt Kite Championships....Shanti Cup and Revolution Cup Circa 1994

Fantastic flying....thanks to youtuber 'HIGEKARASU' for sharing it.

#73420 Revs In Popular Culture

Seriously in all honesty, I stumbled upon this yesterday when looking for images of Revolution kites. (No really)

Not sure if it counts as popular culture... like I'm sure it was quite popular at the time... (maybe not so cultural)

....a poster with swimsuited Shannon Rae with an early Rev1.

Anyone know the story behind this.....an early advert for Revolution maybe, an attempt to make kites sexy (of course I mean even MORE sexier...come one a Rev1, corrr!) or did they have their eyes set on ladies swimwear in case this kite malarky didn't work out Posted Image

Are your video's edited with the supplied Kodak software ? I was just wondering....i am not familiar with video-editing.....

Afraid 'I'm a Mac' Posted Image

PeeCee days are long behind me now. So have no idea of whats what video-wise for you. Sorry I'm no help...maybe others can chime in.

Myself, I use either iMovie or Final Cut Express when things get a little muddy in the previous.

I ordered a Kodak Zx1, hope the results will be as good as yours... !

From what I tell specs wise the Zx1 is near enough to that of the Zi8.

Main differences Zi8 does up to 1080p @ 30fps wheres the Zx1 only does up to 720p @ 60fps
Zi8 has image stabilisation where the Zx1 doesn't
Zoom wise the Zi8 does x4 Zx1 does x2
Zi8 has macro focus, missing from the Zx1
Zx1 has the rugged splash proof exterior where the Zi8 doesn't.

As you see not huge differences really.....I use my Zi8 in 720p 60fps all the time, I find the 1080p 30fps mode doesn't really cut the mustard in the end. So really I might as well have the Zx1 Posted Image

Both are good little cams, as I say the Zi8 does what I want without spending the big bucks!

BTW Just make sure you get the fastest SDHC card that you can get....it does make a difference.
