#68717 Berck here I come

Posted by Hezz on 20 April 2010 - 03:53 AM

Found the French TV site about Berck... there's some Rev megateam in the first 11 minute slot, around 8:40, had to be the megateam where we had a rogue kite taking out some of the team!! :kid_frustrated: mentioning no names...

Haven't watched the 50 minute one yet - hopefully there will be some more of us in there, from Sunday's "live on TV" slot!

Yah, can't believe we lost by half a point.. should'a listened to Gee when he suggested Mark & Jeanette Lummas, but I couldn't believe Mark could have had such a dark sun tan :blue_wink:

Anyway I had a really good time at the Gathering, only got a few photos which are here:

You guys are very friendly, hospitable and well organised!

Will look forward to seeing you all again, somewhere "halfway" like Portugal :blue-grin: he he... what a great suggestion!

Thanks again for a great weekend,

Note to "southerners" driving up today... A1 is currently CLOSED due to an accident, at Grantham. Diversions are via a 37 mile detour!!!!! Take the M1 instead I think....

See you there later!

Ah but we have Stephen AND Bob lol

Ahem Posted Image

I am Quiz Queen Posted Image

Have led my team to victory on the company's Quiz Nights... mainly by being in charge of pen & paper and demanding answers out of my bickering colleagues!!! Don't expect this weekend to be any different!

(competitive, MOI?)

See you guys on Friday!

#65281 STOPPED SMOKING,,,,,,,

Posted by Hezz on 28 January 2010 - 01:27 AM

Good on you Bri...

I've never smoked in my life but understand how hard it must be to try to quit the habit.

Keep at it, it sounds like you're on the right track and the 12 week course sounds like a great idea from the Government, at last!! No excuses to give up on the course if it only cost you 10 Posted Image

All the best,

#64864 Berk Ferrys and travel

Posted by Hezz on 14 January 2010 - 12:52 PM

Get saving those Tesco Clubcard vouchers and travel on Eurotunnel - no weather related issues (well, not unless it's freezing cold again..), across in only 30 minutes and for a quarter of the normal price! (e.g. a 130 crossing will only cost you 32.50 in Clubcard vouchers) plus you don't have to drive as far as Dover as the terminal is on the M20 at Folkestone.

Also they normally put you on the next available crossing whenever you arrive (subject to demand) and there's usually 3 crossings per hour, unlike the unflexible ferries...

Simples! :kid_smartass:

#64639 135,000.000 Cant be wrong

Posted by Hezz on 09 January 2010 - 11:30 AM

Great vid, made me laugh! :kid_content:

But can you imagine, Mr Hoath wanted us to fly to one of those particular tracks this year!!

I'll leave it up to your imaginations to guess which one...

Happy 2010 all! Posted Image

#62511 How many forums do you belong to?

Posted by Hezz on 16 December 2009 - 12:46 PM

For me:

1. Facebook if it counts! ;-)
Rev forum
Fractured Axel
swarb.co.uk - discussions on British Law - strangely addictive
Dahon - folding bikes
Blackberry Forum
Vodafone eforum

Looks like I'm all kites, technology & transport then ;-)

#60451 Dont panic,,,relax

Posted by Hezz on 27 October 2009 - 08:34 AM

Hands at hips?? Never flown like that... my flying technique is more like elbows in to sides, hands in front of me, but not in a tense way (more to prevent inadvertent elbowing of fellow flyers!)

In light winds, moving arms up / out can help a lot, e.g. one arm fully extended, other hand up near shoulder / ear (if you can picture that) can allow you to keep flying in very marginal winds.

But I would say, fly how you feel comfortable. We all have different flying styles, but the "relax and don't panic" is still a good maxim :)
