#86449 Revolution and Connor Doran Support Chelsea's Gala

chelsea add rev site.jpg A big Thank you to Revolution Kites for supporting the Chelsea Hutchison foundation Gala on May 3, 2012 in Denver Colorado.
Connor will be speaking and flying that night to support S.U.D.E.P. Awareness and Epilepsy Awareness. SUDEP (Sudden Death in Epilepsy Patients) is a condition that they are discovering is much more common then originally thought.
Chelsea Hutchison was only 16 when her life was taken by a seizure that occurred while she was sleeping. Even though Connor was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 4 years old, I have just recently been made aware of this condition. The Chelsea Hutchison foundation helps provide seizure alert dogs, and sleep monitors for children and adults with epilepsy. Chelsea's family started the foundation after the loss of their daughter to help others become more aware of the condition. Chelsea had been seizure free for a while when this happened.
We are pleased to be a part of this fundraising event, and are honored that the Revolution family is joining forces.

#85451 I Need Some Advise From You

Hi Ben,
I have a suggestion. Instead of selling them, what about using these kites to teach new young fliers... and knowing how many families cannot afford a reg priced kite, give them away to eager young fliers.. not sure about details, but a general idea.

I seem to remember a young man that was given a kite to learn on, by you ...that kite opened a whole world up to him, and changed his life and mine..

Changing the world one kite at a time.. has a nice ring to it..

My gut.. don't destroy them... there is a reason it happened.. make it a good one.

Just do what you love Exile.. that's what I do.. if someday it was meant to be, it will happen.. But I don't waste time waiting for someone to share that with.. life is too short and if it's meant to be, it will happen.. :) If you do what you love, you can't go wrong..

Hi all..
We arrived home yesterday to a very very happy Border Collie *Panda*! After about an hour of her bouncing around things settled down a bit, and pretty much we were too tired to do anything. Managed a quick run to the store for food, and a call to Scott in which I promised him I would not do any house cleaning right away. lol.

Connor and I are both good with what happened. There is no way to describe what we just experienced, but it was amazing and a lot of stress. We are thrilled with how far he made it, and all the great people we met and will have as friends forever.

Just wanted to give you a .. hahah the dryer just ended and did the BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.. and it took me right back to where we were last week.. lol

Let me try this again. Just wanted to give you an update and let you know we are doing well.. resting and have no major plans at the moment, except to get some rest, rebalance, and be ready for what comes next..whatever it may be.

That was the first time someone had the guts (courage in case you don't understand proper american) to try this in this environment. Probably some good lessons learned. Now that you have learned a little (wee little) you might have the hutspa to give it a try. Or maybe some young kid might beat you to it; keep watching.

Hi All,
What Pudsli ( and to no fault of his own, cause hey if you don't understand all the issues involved you just can't) doesn't understand, is that someone, somewhere, had to be the first to try this *indoor flying* idea.. I mean think about it. What was someone really thinking when they decided to take a kite indoors and try flinging it around.. what inspired them..what drove them? We may never know the answer to that... but we do know the ending result. That would be over 1000 kitefliers all over the world, putting on shows, international competitions, getting together for the fun of it.. inspiring each other, pushing each other to try new moves.. inspiring others to give it a go. The result of one person's idea, or attempt inspires others.

In the case that Pudsli is referring to..Many others were inspired, moved and touched... Many have had the pleasure of seeing him fly in person, and have been touched. As we all know, stuff happens.. to the best of us, and all it does is inspire us to keep going, and keep trying. Scotty has been a supporter and teacher for myself and my son in our indoor flying as well as many others. I for one am thankful for the mistakes , because it helps all us learn how to do it better, to be more driven, and to set the bar high. Scotty , John, and many other masters have done that for us all. Thanks guys.
And I will only say this, keep watching Pudsli... because what the Masters have taught us, we take forward with our future fliers... and it only gets better. Keep watching...

Am we are on the job in a big way which because we are working with the legal department the Gombergs used I can not really talk
about more at this date. Just remember we are fighting the good fight and when your right you are right...... Ben :blue-cool: :blue-cool:

I figured you would be on it Ben..thanks for giving us a bit of info..

Again I think the best thing is to continue to be educating people and remember that some truly do nottt know what is going on. So be polite, and be helpful and the product will speak for itself.

Here's to friends..

ok here is the news.... .

The kites had been gone through and are in wrong bags...

but I am truly truly HAPPY to tell you that ALLLLLL the kites are there except one, and ALL the kites are in good condition. Now i have to go through them yet.. to make certain but it will take me a bit to do that.

The V.I.P Lam Hoac indoor is the one kite I am sorry to say is not there.... but it may turn up... The police know it's still gone..

The guy in charge of this ring is in jail and will be going to trial.. There were people there picking up refrigerators and table saws.. and computers and and and...
we spoke to one woman that was about to move into her brand new home.. and they took everything.. all the appliances.. everything down to the light fixtures... She recovered a few things, but we are pretty sure that a lot of her things were sold. I feel for her. We were lucky.

Connor has been quiet since last night... not really talking about it. When he got out of the car.. and walked over and saw the rev bag... he shouted **** that's our STUFFFFFF****

And when we opened the bag, and he saw the kite that Benny had gotten for him, he grabbed it and pulled it out.. and was sooo happy to see it.. *made some of us teary eyed***.
still is.
we are both still in disbelief.. Connor just said.. oh my gosh... I cannot believe it. I know exactly how he feels... it just seems to good to be true..
