Today I met with Flying high and he lived up to his forum name. We quickly overcome the challenges of handle movement. Using splint and later a simple strap to aid grip. He was able to use lateral movement to the same effect as vertical with extra input walking he was very quickly able to get to grips with the rev. We had a full days rev flying. Great day, and success beyond expectation. a great days flying with friends old and new.

I suspected that might be the case John - distance not age.

We are working out the logistics of meeting up and looking at intoducing him to local fliers in his area. You would always be welcome John. I will keep everyone informed of our progress and any potential problems we encounter.

#95496 Lee sedgwick 1.5 warm colors

Interesting. We had similar discussions about our team kites and found the B-series difficult to reconcile with our Sedgwick influenced stripes. The Los Hermanos printed sail you can have the printing over the mesh. This was a huge help to us but we also added a black division between colours to define the stripes. A word of warning with the printed sail - Just make sure you put the right kite in the right bag after use as it can be very difficult to tell if it is standard, mid, or full vent once on the lines! For us the printed sail was the perfect solution

Thank you Vince and all of your team for having taken part in a very constructive weekend. The flying may have been a bit difficult at times but the ideas and discussions were great.

It was great that the representatives of the YSP turned up at the right moment today even if they missed the key moments yesterday!

We should set about planning the 'next one' as it really seems that the 'large team' format is the way to go, despite the logistical issues.

The YSP representative were extremely impressed and indicated they would like future events. They even suggested other areas of YSP which we could utilise.

I have already took the liberty of making some initial enquires for locations for the 'next one' I will keep you informed . I totally agree the large team format is the way to go.

Thank you Martin and Felix for your help we have booked our rooms for Fusion.

If we are going for Mercedes I think a "Felix" between rotations might be good.

There is a few from the North East for both camping and halls but we have not given specific reference as rev fliers, perhaps this is the case with others.

Having been through the hoops in 2008 I would hesitate in getting involved in such projects until it is clear that the level of participation is sufficient.

As I mentioned, it would be good if someone local to Portsmouth was able to volunteer to take on organisational/coordination matters.

We need a 'project manager'. I am not in a position to take on such a role.

I can see the importance of being local but I think it may be easier if more than one could take on such a role. I'm sure we would all offer support to this group where we can. I'm looking forward to seeing this develop over the coming weeks and coming to Portsmouth 2011.

Would it be worth suggesting a keep sake of the rev event at Portsmouth. Tee shirts or a badge. It would probably require some expertise but dare I say any profits may be used to subsidise fliers costs. It would be great to get a step nearer to the magic grid and a small incentive may help.

So no feedback from 'the Squad' about invading their turf then?? Wonder if we should hire scooters for the day or are we the rockers?

Please don't move it to Brighton Mr Jones. As I recall the only Geordie was a bell boy!! Not good, the North East lot will just stick to revs.

Its a great idea Baz. It would be great to catch up with everyone again. It's been a difficult year for me and a road trip to meet rev friends is just the ticket. We might even get a grid going Baz. :innocent:
