thanks for the hint JChoccy - Try stepping forward for ladders down - it takes the sting out of the turn.
that really ought to be coming to me instinctively by now..
but there is always something else to 'remember'

Sailor is right Choccy. Stepping forward is the answer. At the beginning I was all over the place with my co-ordination between my arms and feet. In the end it's timing and taking into account the wind strength.

Good to hear that you got together guys.
No prospect of me picking up a kite anytime soon - things were improving for a while but have deteriorated again
One way of improving the ladder up/down is to really fix your eye on the kite tip that you're turning around - pin it to the sky and drive the rest of the kite around that point!
