I'm meeting up with Steve/pudsli during his visit to the glorious south west England next month. It would be fab if you could join us for a days informal Rev'ving on Weston-super-Mare beach. Saturday 19 April. The more the merrier!

PS - bring your own bucket and spade. Prizes for best sandcastle.

Sorry guys I can't make this now.

I've done some damage to one of my neck vertebrae which has trapped the nerves that connect with my right arm. Lots of pain and numb fingers right now but it's on the mend slowly. However it has seriously jeopardised my kiting plans for the future - perhaps permanently. Certainly no more high wind heroics like at Dunstable. I've had problems in this area of my neck previously but not as bad - I guess I need to take notice this time.

Sympathy, flowers, grapes are welcome ;) Please no inane comments about one armed rev flying

Really very, very sorry to hear that David. What a complete bummer for you. Please accept my wishes for a rapid recovery and I hope your recovery is more complete than the prognosis looks like currently.

Here are some virtual grapes I bought - hope you enjoy them.

Sorry to hear you have been in the wars mate I really hope this doesn’t mean you will be permanently off the circuit. As the first non Dunstable regular I met when I took up this fine hobby you have become one of the people I look forward to meeting at festivals. Please accept my very sincere wishes for a full and rapid recovery and a piece if advice from my mum, “take more water with it next time.”

Oh, and flowers and grapes as requested.

Dave,

It's been too long since we saw you, but so sorry to hear of your injury. Do hope you recover soon and that your rev days return. Wouldn't want to lose such a good flyer from the scene.

Best wishes,

Lummas Family

Awful news David. I do hope the 'perhaps permanent' reference to the curtailing of your kiting proves to be pessimism - the most cursory of trwls through the forum proves you are one of the very 'founders' of the whole Rev-ing scene, certainly in this country, and it would be a bleak day indeed if you stopped.

It was a pleasure to meet you at Dunstable this year. I sincerely hope this is all just an inconvenience and you'll be flying properly at Bristol.

That's real bad news David, as Fraser says it was a pleasure to meet you at Dunstable, I was, and well still am looking forward to seeing you flying in more sensible conditions later in the year at Bristol. all the best,
Bruce

What a great day we had last Thursday 17th. April 08.

A big thanks to you Steve (Pudsey) for a whole day of 'one to one' learning. And, I did learn a great deal. The ladder up and down. Finally getting to grips with the 'Snap'. And what about the onehanded flying! Never in a months of Sundays did I expect to fly with one hand - and keep it going for so long up for so long.

Yep, we had a good day despite the high winds and strong easterly gusts!

Sorry you were not able to make it David E.

Ian

Hello Ian,
Glad you chaps had a great flying day... and learnt loads. :)

I like doing ladders *up* but am struggling with ladders *down* at the moment.
Kind of panic going towards the ground from a static postition *;-/
