I'm thinking, if we do this, we might try to make it a 2-day affair...

Sounds better and better.

Come on folks, we only need to get another 4 to say yes for John to start to firm this up.

I know it is in the week but there has got to be others out there who have the time off. And the Monday is a BH anyway.

Just think of the fun we had at Dunstable.

I know there is a payment for this but to a good cause.

Stephen and all the folks who helped with the UK weekend/s were FANTASTIC. But I am sure we will fly with them again some time, soon I hope.

When will you ever be able to fly with iQuad again unless you pay for a trip to US or wherever else thay are.

Updated, that's 7!

I'm talking to Dave @ Kiteworld UK about this clinic, they may end up helping with the local organization if this thing works out. :)

One more name added, that's 8... We're likely to add clinic info to the Bristol, Kiteworld UK and Portsmouth sites very soon. ;)

To the UK flyers, can I mention a couple of things

1 YOU really want to do this, John is an excellent flyer and his team are all great guys. Think about summer 2008, sitting round at some event.... conversation turns to who you fly with, Oh yeah I flew a bit with John Barresi show him a few moves, and then he told us about the time he ....

Come on you cant miss this, you will regret it if you dont go.

2 If you build it they will come. (make sure you have 120 ft lines for the time when you team fly with Iquad :sign_kitelife:
$20 from me, count me in.

Fancy putting writing on that poor kite. You would never find me asking JB or Lam or Flying Squad or Crazy Drivers or all the other folks I can catch this year to sign stuff for me :D (Rather than just Big Grin it should be a Big Cheesy Grin)

Come on folks, I have flown with John and Lam a lot (well part of an afternnon anyway) They are great guys.

As Simon says when will you be able to get bragging rights like this again.

I have 3 setes of 120's if anyone wants to borrow some. Some LPG (which I hope to use of course) 150lb Protec and some with no name!! Even got a Rev or two if someone comes up short.

Good times, very memorable.

What you have in the picture is 3 of the most influential Rev flyers the World has ever seen !!! Period.

Scott - took it to the Japanese and showed what can be done, 3 /4 years after this picture the Rev scene in Japan was massive, with really good flyers

Carl - took it to Europe, was Euro cup winner and devloped a form of flying that the likes of Chris Goff now fly, and watch most videos of Euro flyers and you will see his influence

John - Winningest Rev flyer in AKA history, and took Rev team flying back to the US from his experience in Europe

And the thing is John, two of these people will be at Portsmouth, and as part of your clinic anyone can fly with one of them (maybe two?)

Simon... Thanks. ;)

Scott was my role model in kiting, far and away... Pound for pound, relative to his era, the best flier in history, imho.

Busy as Carl gets, I'm not sure if he'll be actively involved in the clinic, but I'm sure he'll be there.

And yes, I think I can speak for Carl as well, that we heartily look forward to meeting everyone and sharing our experience with all comers!

==

Although it's not all set in solid stone yet, you can pretty much count on a clinic Monday after Portsmouth, same field...

Not sure about Tuesday at this point, since we won't have designated fields or crowd control.

I'm thinking an organized clinic on Monday, with a looser, more casual intermixing of skills and knowledge for Tuesday.

Awww Sailor, is that tingling brought on by all the wind in your ears ? :kid_content:

We will seriously consider attending this, especially if it is on the monday at Southsea!

That's potentially 2 more for your list.
(if you can handle a complete novice (me, "C") and an intermediate flyer "G")

Unfortunately it was blisteringly cold with lots of snow. So all I got from the 'wind in my ears' was an ear infection. Also was very kindly given presents of chapped lips, a sore nose and a head cold. All followed by an unsecheduled 24 hour stop in bejing on my way home. Wanted to try flying in Tiananmen square and maybe even get the shots for the site, but the authorities saw me setting up and told me to hop it.

However, and back on topic, I can asssure you that it really is the excitement at some top notch training that is making my ears tingle rather than the infection.
