Nice report Fraser, I think you summed it up what was a very good weekend for Rev Fliers.
Also a great opportunity to put faces to names.

To my shock, The Decorators graced our meet with one of their rare appearances, underlining as though it were needed the worthwhile nature of the weekend.

Fraser,

Thank you very much for your report.

It was very good to be able to attend the event and to establish the practicality, even in somewhat extreme conditions, of what might be achieved later in the year.

I hope that everyone will be able to participate in the 20th Year Celebrations...

Felix

Oi! I'll have you know the National Trust contacted me after the weekend and thanked me for ploughing the field (though they did also request, rather snootily, that I return all the earth once I'd cleaned out me end caps, in case there were any endangered species of grass in there...). So there!

I will add your link in thekitedens report

Thanks! :kid_smartass:

Hello again everyone.

As you know - I was tasked with writing a report on our weekend at Dunstable. It's done now and is about to be sent to KiteLife following a few wee tweeks suggested by Stephen and will thereafter be posted on here (don't get all excited - it ain't Shakespeare! LOL).

Thing is, KiteLife need pictures and have asked me to gather a selection and send them to supplement the report. So, could anyone who has any pictures they'd allow to be considered, please send them to me? I need as big files as you have, according to KiteLife, and I'll need them to be titled - at least rudimentarily - so I know who they're of and what's happening (if it's not obvious, of course).

Files, or collections of files - zipped or otherwise - up to 20MB, should be sent to (wait for it - this is good....):

Pie.Eating.Gorilla@googlemail.com :kid_smartass:

Come on folks - I need your responses as quick as you can. Go on - you know you want to!

Fraser

I've just thought of a name for a new team.... PieQuad!! :kid_smartass:

I wondered if early March, Blackheath would be a possibility for a non event of the large team variety!

Was amazed at how big Blackheath is when I went there a while ago.

What is the accomodation like in that area??

Felix I know you are busy with the logistice for Festivals however to quote some film from a while ago.

"If you build it they will come"

In other words I am sure if someone was prepared not to arrange an non-event, there would be sure to be folks turning up.

Afraid there is just no where suitable near me so I will just have to follow around the Country.

Good question Baloo
I know there's a hotel on the Heath itself cant remember for the life of me what it's called, am on leave at the moment so will pop up there tomorrow Will also try to find out what else is available locally, although Blackheath is quit easily accesible from london by public transport.on the main A2 into London.

If you build it I will come...

1/2 March or 15/16 are both very good for me, but you will need to check who is away.

Hi Jade,

Well I was there for a while. Good to meet with you.

Do you have a 120ft line set?

One of the things that we have found over the years is that 'team' flying as in flying with someone else forces the learning curve up by a considerable factor.

11:00am is the usual time on Sundays but the Blackwell Tunnel was closed this morning so I was late!

16th and 23rd March are likely but 30th we will be in Valencia.

Please can anyone provide futher information about the 15th June event on Blackheath.

Thanks

Felix

It was such a shame we couldn't make it to either of these training days, Stephen & co.
Hopefully if you were to consider doing another one of these days, we'll try to free up the calendar given the chance!
