Just pretend all my statements are prefaced with IIRC, AFAIK, IMHO, and end with "Just my $.02," okay?

That's a tent stake, big nail with a plastic thing at the end that goes in the hole in the tent pole. About $2.95 for a set of four at any sporting goods store. Throw it away or buy a tent and you'll have spare, LOL.

Ah. Yes, well. Ahem. 
But....what if it's someone's LUCKY tent stake? They may cry tears of joy at its return. Maybe there will be a reward. 
More likely I'll keep it on hand for someone who arrives off a plane with no stake because they flew carry on only.
