I just wanted to say thanks to Jim, Lynn, & Bob for inviting me for a team fly with them when I was vacationing in long beach the first part of august. I had a blast and got some well needed practice in. See you all in a week for the grid, and hopefully some more team flying. Thank again, Eric the rookie

Welcome to the forum! WSIKF is going to be great!

John Barresi and I have been working on animations for the WSIKF Grid 100 later this month. These animation DO NOT use Flash which means they will function on MAC, iPhone, iPad and most other mobile devices including Amazon Kindle Fire.
The initial set of animations are now available at:
http://www.johnnmitchell.com/
Animation/grid100/index.html
I do know it we will have the time to add to this before WSKIF 2013.

You will need JavaScript enabled in your internet browser, which it usually is by default and you will need a later up to date browser of which almost all can handle HTML5 to some extent.

There are mpeg4 and mov video files at:http://johnnmitchell.../index-mp4.html andhttp://johnnmitchell.../index-mov.html . The .mov works well on iPad and Quicktime. The mpeg4 files can be used directly without a browser on Windows, Kindle Fire HD and other devices.

Today we broke the World Record at 81 Revolutions flown in a 9x9 matrix. We flew for about 20 to 30 minutes flying Vertical threads, Horizontal Threads. 4 concentric rings and one huge ball. The Director was John Barresi who himself stood at a distance behind us in a place where he could easily observe every REV and getting us out of jams. In addition there were several REV fliers on the ground assisting us. Congratulations to everyone.

With the Concentric Rings we performed both slow and fast burst. The bursts were performed in two fashion, one being all at once the other being sequential by rings. With the big ball we also performed a burst, however the ring was so huge that I being one near the bottom could only move a few feet before I was touching the ground. If you you look at the wiggly REV on Column 3 Row 7, that is mine being a yellow/black B Series. Almost all maneuvers were performed at least twice.

The winds were relatively strong, Most flew with full vents using 3wrap or race rods. A few flew with Xtra vents and other version of the REV 1.5, including the Elliot Shook weave.

Sorry, There was no attempt Saturday for a 10x10 grid (100 Revs) due to lower winds. It is doubtful that there will be an attempt at 100 today probably more due to insufficient revolution pilots being available.

No 100.... Pity (100/25 years rev) but wait till the last moment maybe..? Positive side: the opportunity to make a 100 strong is still open and a nice challenge :-)

The 100 REV record is still open. The best to date remains at 81 REVs.

When and where it happens, nobody knows!

I really thought this was a "Given", it just goes to she nothing can be taken for granted when you rely on the weather. But many congratulation to all who took part, 81 is no mean feat.
