After 2 weeks of no wind, I was finally able to try out my new race rods in my SLE. Let me set the scene.
Monday, checked the wind forecast for the week and Wednesday around lunchtime looked promising. 16 knots. Spoke to my boss about taking an hour lunch break. Sweet! Put the bag in ready. Come lunch today, went to the park literally 2 minutes from work and set up. Wind was a little variable but was nice all the same. With race rods in the kite felt a lot easier to fly. Much more responsive than the 3 wrap frame that was in before, no SLE either.
For the first time I was able to load and unload my sail at will. I was popping here and there and having a ball! Still over controlling things a bit, but no where near like I was 2 months ago. Practice practice practice.
Can now see why lots of people say "get some race rods". Thoroughly worth it.
Rob.

G'day Bill,
Could've easily turned into the afternoon off! Ha ha ha. Had an alarm set so I knew that I had time to pack up and get back. Have just seen the wind forecast for the week ahead and u may have to do it again Tues & Wed.
