Hi All.

Just a thought. Does anyone (at Revolution, or anyone else) have any idea just how many Revs are out there?

I'd never even SEEN one before I caught the kiting bug, but reading this forum regularly makes it obvious they're all over the planet and have been for, what, 20 years?

Anyone even hazard a guess at the total?

Fraser

============================

NOTE FROM THE MODERATOR:

For all updates, please post with this format for 100% clarity:

nickname - +# (total)

For me, it would be like this:

Kitelife - +4 (43)

If you want, you can always refer to the last updated number for you on
the list - militant accuracy isn't the goal, just makes it easier for
me. ;)

Thanks!

============================

Total count (updated 7/31/12):

2,564 Revs between 288 pilots!

-----------

*list is updated on occasion, the last post included in totals is
#1841 in this thread, by makatakam.
*total count per person should reflect kites actually in possession, and only those produced by Revolution.

*do not edit list - tended by administrators.

That's a really good question!

Well, even if they only moved 500 kites a year (very low guess I think)... That'd still be 10,000 Revs out there in the world!

Amazing. ;)

30 here not counting the black and teal reg and vented 1.5 I'm hopefully getting this weekend. (if the shipping gods allow)

and if I ever get to try the B-series that could up another 2,4 or 6 depending if custom colors can be had  then there is the custom progressive stack in reg and vented coming soon and seriously considering a masterpiece.

OK I think like smoking Rev should offer some sort of support group for chronic kite buyers. (or a major discount) LOL

Fraser, in all fairness... 32 of those 57 are iQuad team kites, which stay in my possession. ;)

I got my first REV, a REV I in 1990.
Over the years I have had 72 REV sails but not enough rods for all of them.
At last count I still had 42 REVs.
Details on each REV, I have or had are documented on my Web site.

There are others with more REVs. I suspect the absolute winners are Ann and Sam Ritter whom I suspect have well over a hundred REVs.

Yeah John, I went through your list a while ago. Fantastic - very impressive. "Over 100" for the Ritters? LOL When people catch this bug, they CATCH it, don't they?

I feel a little pathetic at this moment. I only have 2 Revs. A 1.5, and an Indoor (with a lost bungee and end cap that a have been procrastinating to replace). BUT I am hoping to get a cheaper used, vented B-Series from Ben and Lolly an WSIKF this year.(I just hope I have enought money) I'm getting all the work I can at my age (15) in a small town (Deer Park WA) to buy some more revs. It's a little tough.

57 Revs John? That's to be expected I guess. I remember when you offered me to fly one of your kites and I said, "THat's okay, I don't want to break it or anything," and you responded with, "Don't worry, I have plenty more where that came from." You weren't kidding huh?

In my first year, I only had a REV I.
In my second year I added a REV II and made a REV I sail to replace my deteriorating REV I sail.
In my third year I added a REV I SUL.
After that I became a REV collector addict.
