"Does anyone have any news about Don and Jeri Dixon and Kites Unlimited in Atlantic Beach, NC????"

I spoke with Don about 10 minutes ago. Everyone is fine, a couple of small roof leaks at the shop, power is on but no landline phone service.

Had a great day flying at the Washington Monument on Sunday. Clear Sky, 20mph all day. Had my Baby Rev's that I made over 10 years ago flying.
Full Vent or Baby's it was a great day.

Hope all faired as well as I did on the East Coast.

Except for wind,Irene was pretty much a non event at our house on the western edge of Wake County. Less that a 1/2" of rain total. Took advantage of the abnormal winds (gusts to about 45) though with an older 1.5 (mylar panel version) vented with SLE on an old 120# line set. Kite, lines, and pilot all handled the gusts just fine.

Glad to hear yall made it through OK. See ya in a couple of months!

Here is a link to some video my wife, Randi shot. It is from the day after Irene which was probably one of the best beach days so far all summer.

Sweeeeeet video, Rich! I'm so glad you were able to get back to the beach!!! :ani_punk:

For those wondering, I had received a text from Antman. He and his family rode out the storm at home and are doing fine. Outside of the usual storm beach swampage, it looks like Wildwood recovered nicely and should be in good shape for Nationals (provided another Storm or Hurricane doesn't come along)!

I had more Storm effects here at home in PA than I thought I would. Basement flooding wasn't as bad, but I lost power for about 12 hours and had a lot of small branches and limbs down. My brother STILL doesn't have power. :(

Needless to say I am So Thankful to hear that all of our Rev Family came out of this intact! I think it could have been a lot worse, and it was for some folk... so I'm totally counting my blessings right now!
