Hey Ben, If you go to the apple looking for Liberty State Park you're gonna be flying alone. LSP is in New Jersey.

Get to WSIKF then. I have one extra bed yet for the beginning of the week - Monday to Thursday nights. Splitting the costs helps everyone in the room including you.

You get to fly with all the big names in one place. Easiest way to absorb everything you can in the shortest amount of time possible.

Last year was an exceptional year, but I flew with The Decorators, The Flying Squad, Island Quad and Rev Riders. I somehow managed to avoid miss iQuad but did get to fly with JB and TK. Posted Image

You probably won't see The Decorators or The Flying Squad this year, but 3 outta 5 ain't bad and added to the dozens of other Rev pilots who will be there you'll have a great time. I learned more in a few days at WSIKF then the previous three years combined.

You'll find a common thread at this forum and that is we all want to see everyone succeed in this and once you've had the chance to fly with others you will crave more of it. A great opportunity is just over a month away.

We wanted Bart to succeed and travelled half way round the world in order to assist <grins>

Portsmouth is looking good here in the UK at the end of August for those who want to contribute further...

Yes, it was quite the experience showing up at WSIKF for the first time ever then trying to fly as far away from the mob as possible, due to lack of experience when it came to playing with others and a bad case of nerves considering the company around me, only to suddenly see the very distinguisable Decorator kites floating in overhead with Felix announcing he had warned me that he would hunt me down.

After that it was all or nothing. By the end of the day I was in the main Rev field with everyone else and not half a mile down the beach hiding because I felt I belonged there too.

It is worth the trip. I can't say enough good about it. Read my blog to get the full blown version.

What your are being told here is so true. Lynn and I went to WSIKF for the first time in 2003 as very new Rev fliers. Didn't know anyone, never flew with anyone, etc.,etc.

Last year there was a Rev field, and I suspect that will be true again this year. At the beginning of the week folks were flying all over the place, some with others, some by themselves. By the end of the week a group of four was a very small group Everyone flying with everyone else. We would be in a line and there would be well known fliers and new comers. The line would grow, and then shrink. It was more fun than we could ever have without having to buy a ticket.

We do what we have to do, to get to WSIKF every year.

Oh, this thread is about Liberty State Park :w00t:

That is on our "bucket list" of places we want to fly. :)

I have visited Denver, Lubbock (AKA), Long Beach and Madison, the latter two, a number of times. I would really like to get to Wildwoods sometime.

I would, however, encourage all westpondians to check out the European festivals if ever you get the chance. Berck and Cervia are quite astonishing. Also the Japanese international event at Uchinada is up there on a global scale... a magical event!

Hey, I'd love to do Liberty Park as well, you all understand OK!?

Felix

PS and it's Portsmouth in England at the end of August 2011...

Don't worry, I didn't mean it that way. Getting 100 fully proficient Rev Fliers in one place at one time needs that transporter it seems!

I'm not holding my breath regarding the number of fliers who are able to attend Portsmouth 2011 but it looks like we will have a significant number.

Hello Felix-

How are you and the gang doing?

I have every intention of making it to some of the major events on your side of the pond. If you're ever in the New York/ metro area, we will definitely have a "Felix Fly" or "Decorators Day" at Liberty.

As for anyone finding their way to NYC or NJ, the Jersey Crew always welcomes everyone to LSP for fun, laughs and great flying, oh, and a beautiful backdrop! There are enough of us, locally, to make our own festival- practically every time we fly! With a little notice, chances are, there will be 12-15 pilots Posted Image. With a bit more notice, it is likely that you'll be able to fly with 20 or more Rev flyers.... or more!!!!!Posted Image

"LSP..... it's worth the trip!"
