[Reef Runner]

MATCHING
My first Rev was a 1.5 SLE. It was a gift, so I was happy with the color, it didn't matter

My next Rev was a B-series Full-Vent (Black & Lime) [Alright, I liked that]
My next Rev was a B-series Std Sail (Black & Purple) [For some reason, that kite just didn't look right in the sky(?) to me]
My next Rev was a B-series Mid-Vent (Black & Lime) [Alright, now that looked more like it, again]
My next Rev was a B-series Std sail (Black & Lime) [Voilà! My set was now complete, and matching]

Different strokes for different folks............It's definitely a personal thing ! Do what feels right to you !

I suppose I should clarify my previous response. When I said "Matching", earlier, I was referring to kites of the same model, such as the B-series, that are available in std, mid-vent & full-vent. As for completely different models, such as Rev I's, Rev II's, etc, the more variation (Mixed), the merrier !!

Although I have 2 kites that are not R/W/B, I like my R/W/Bs,, I have 4 more 1.5 a 1 and a 2 R/W/B as well.

I wanted a mid-vent and ordered a custom because my colour scheme was discontinued and I didn't want to ruin a matched set.

Hmmm! have given the colour plenty of thought time. So tough to decide My first 3 Bs are all different colours. I have the extra vent on order hot fade to warm up grey winter sky. But I think I will match the 2 remaining pro s left on my shopping list Race green black center. Cool. 3 matching Pro s feels right as the core of my collection. B2s now thats a whole nother quandary.

I still love that color-combination,
Nice in blue skies but (my opinion) i love to have white in my kites too, great contrast with the colors and for that "blinking"effect when turning against the sunshine.

Just ordered a lime/black full vent to match my full sail.

I have a full set (xtra vent to Zen) in this pattern on order. Just have the full vent now, but Bazzer is currently working on the rest. I was very lucky that the wind was high enough to use this for the first time this PM (forecast notwithstanding).

Well you've seen my Zen in the alternate version of that (altho I never can tell if you have dark gray or black for the outer block - mine is black) .... but I have recently ordered the Polo Rev like yours but I went for the black inner lines instead of white.

Still working my way up to a Pro set, but I think my 1.5 set will have a black center instead of the white on my Zen

I picked up a standard REV a couple of years ago on an auction site, then Mark Lummas sold me a couple of (custom) vented sails of the same color/pattern

I never can tell if you have dark gray or black for the outer block - mine is black

I can tell you : Outerblock is Dark Grey, middleblock is LightGrey

When I first began flying the Rev, I would have voted for mixed, unequivocally.
After flying for a bit, I decided I would have a custom matching set. I played with the Colorizer for hours. I couldn't decide on any of my designs.
After comparing Bazzer's fades to my designs, I decided on getting one of Bazzer's fades. Every color fade is great, but I was especially attracted to the Forest Fade Black Center. I really like the color green. Got it full-sail. Professed my love for it here on the forum a couple weeks later.
At first I thought about a full matching set of Forest Fades. When it came time to order the rest of my Pros though, I suddenly had a moment of panic - there are so many fade designs/colors I want!! I began to kick around the ideas I had when I first began flying. Maybe I should get a mixed set? Which one will be the mid-vent, which the full? Then I noticed - there are 3 different green fade designs! This will be my final setup:

My 2 cents....

My 1st and 2nd kites are the same colours, Lime & Blue but different patterns, an EXP and a SLE. Now they are "semi permanently" trained together and look really good as a stack if I do so so myself.
My B's will be a set, and I'll eventually make a set to match my B2.

The foam on my handles is black and red. My kites are black and red or black or red. Does that count????
