I was excited to read recently in the latest edition of Kitelife that John has now launched Kitevids.com as a kite specific video portal. I rushed out and set myself up an account and this week began trying to upload some videos. The process of doing so seems very simple and seemed to go well. When the upload completed I got a confirmation telling me that I should now the videos in My Videos (marked pending approval by the administrator). When I go to My Videos, the summary of my account lists:

Username : mlummas
Joined : 2010-12-22
Last logged in : 2 days ago
Last active : 0 seconds from now
Profile views: 6
total_videos: 2
Total videos watched 1

As you can see, the total_videos line correctly lists 2, but the videos do not display anywhere in My Videos, My Channel or anywhere else.

I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem, or can tell me where I might be going wrong.

Hi Mark, I *might* have identified the problem in our site settings...

Can you try uploading one again, and send me an email when it's done?

Sadly, the script doesn't notify me of new additions.

I noticed that my total-videos has been set back to 0.
So, I uploaded a video. Again the process went through fine. Got to the end and it told me:

UPLOAD COMPLETE

Your video upload is finished, if everything went smoothly, you should now find it listed on your My Videos page, pending approval from a site administrator.

When I go to My Videos, I do not see any videos, but my account now says:

Username : mlummas
Joined : 2010-12-22
Last logged in : 2 days ago
Last active : 0 seconds from now
Total logins : 2
Profile views: 7
total_videos: 1
Total videos watched 2
Subscribers : 0
country: United States

I deleted the videos that had already failed, but I see your latest one in the cue (Goff)... Conversion is still failing on our side.

Can you tell me what the file size is?

I'm looking into this, please bear with me.

Thx John. The video is on my work PC so I will confirm the file size in the morning.

Video was about 6 mins long, wth a file size of 38MB.

Okay Mark, we've adjusted some settings - hoping it did the trick...

Not sure what to tell you John. I cleared Temp Int Files and reopened browser. Of course it asked me to log in, as it had cleared my login info. I then uploaded a video and again it said succesful I went to My Videos and the total_videos count went up by one. However, the My Videos or My Channel pages still do not show any videos.

Yeah!! Thx John. Not sure why it didn't appear, but you are correct that I now see it in my My Videos. I will upload some others soon.

Thx Bart. I love that routine. As for the video, its ok, but really its from too far away. Unfortunately I did not have a camera with a wider angle lens, so the only way to get the whole window in was to stand back. Will be trying to do better next time. Glad you liked it though.
