What I meant was the descriptor text right of each figure such as figure CB.

Oops, just lost a draft posting. You have included Zig Zags in horizontal lines which is OK by me for the time being.

I just extrapolated from what you had drawn back to the 16 grid and drew the attached image which requires a small shuffle to achieve the parallel lines.

I have not followed this through yet but I was aware that the parallel diagonal separation had some potential <grins>

I just realised that it may be possible to turn around from the final point of the last drawing I posted and 'thread back through' to the opposite side which is what, in essence you had suggested in a slightly different orientation.

My view is that, once some basics are defined, other, more radical possibilities will become apparent... <grins>

Let's hope that other 'potential' grid fliers will feel able to focus their attention and come up with further ideas.

I just had a quick look and will have to take a more studied look at the weekend. The way that the groups are set up is critical <grins>

It occurs to me that we may need to have alternate configurations in some situations.

Now here is a small sequence from starting grid to four diamonds paying attention to numbering. I think that this may work and it gets close to the Zig Zag which I think is 'quite exciting' <grins>

I am glad that you are so confident that it will work.

What interested me was that this small sequence afforded access to quite a lot of other moves with the transitions that you have already catalogued.

As an aside, one of the issues that I had noted was that the initial grouping was potentially based around the 16 grid and the four kites in 'each corner' of the grid rather than the columns or lines that seemed to be your point of reference in the numbering that you had applied.
