Have fun Ben. We will be thinking of you. Meantime, we will be representing the family at:
Color the Skies

It is the 5th year of this festival and it is for a great cause, close to our heart, a childrens hospital!
There will be hot air balloons, the Patriots aerobatic display team, etc and of course Kites!!
If anyone is in the area and would like to support the event, please check out the times and goings on at: http://www.colortheskies.com/schedule

Meanwhile Ben, have a wonderful time in Wis.

Mark

So as I take a minute I thought I'd add my 2 cents about " Kites over lake Michigan ", Saturday was not good with 30 plus winds
coming in 30 different directions but then Sunday came and it was all so good, 10 mph off the lake with lots of sun and fun for
everyone.....Posted Image Then you add some folks who I see to little of and this trip was a winner for sure, 180 Go was on hand to wow
the crowds, and Zack was well he was the champion he is and did some great demos in both 2 line and 4 line, then IKE was there
in a big way just to sort of keeping me out of trouble..... Posted Image Yea one day was terrible and one was just great then add in some great
folks and I'd say I'll be back, it's really about so much more than kites for me at this stage of life it's about the people and thats
what keeps me coming back time after time and these are some really great folks.... Also a special thanks to Mike Kory and his
daughter Rose and all of his team for just being who they are, my friends....Posted Image My only thing is next year we need a bigger
learn to fly field 80 ft. by 90ft just does not cut it for 2 companies to work out of, but it just makes us all closerPosted Image..... So for
a first time I'd say that all in all they know how to have some fun over here ..... BenPosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Ben... You MUST take-a-break on your travels... You were in Two Rivers WISCONSIN! Posted Image (Rock stars and politicians don't know where they are half the time either!)

You're RIGHT on the fact that... There's just something special, different, and wonderful about this fest! The spectators are so warm and appreciative and with the after-dark night activities with the fire lanterns floating in the sky and fireworks, and the way Chow (Unique Flying Objects kite shop) treats and pampers the kiters, it's certainly out-of-this-world as fests go!

I had a WINDerFULL time and it was great seeing you again! Posted Image

It was great to see you out at one of our favorite local fests, Ben. I'm sure you can agree that this is a great event for such a small town. We had a blast. (despite Saturday's insane winds)

I'm sorry you couldn't stay for the sky lanterns and the fireworks Saturday night...they were truly spectacular. The glowing paper balloons rising and floating off into the darkness over Lake Michigan, followed by the fireworks exploding over the last remaining kites on the beach....just wow.

Hope you had a good time with the IKE and 180 GO! crew. We enjoyed having you, even though you turned a little evil with the Red Bull kite during our mini-mega fly. Good thing we saw you coming. ;)

My daughter and Chris' had a good time playing with you too, when we were tossing their stuffed animal around and making them chase after it. :kid_devlish:

Good winds on your next stop!

Those sky lanterns are cool!

I had to go look them up and see where I could get some.

They would be fun as long as the breeze is blowing away from land.

Actually, last year the breeze did take them over the land. But I guess since they completely burn out well before they come down, they must be safe. The fire department didn't have a problem with it.

The kite store that held the event is an official distributor of the lanterns...Unique Flying Objects

:) Even Rose is looking serious in that first photo.
I dunno why we we're looking so serious, that was one fun weekend. What a large and appreciative audience--in the middle of a routine they broke out in spontaneous applause for a benefits! Just goes to show that simple moves can sometimes impress the peoples more than complex moves. Lots of laughter for our funny moves and even got gasps just flying close to each other when threading (of course we did whack into each other once--just to make it look hard :) )
