Really everyone should make a one cent offer. No more, just flood him with 1 cent offers. I could use an extra set of rods for the shipping price like Sammy mentioned.

After receiving this amazing email this morning...

You may be interested in the following links:

Remove all slanderous postings about our product from your forum and end your illegal and unethical practices.

We know who and what stands behind your forum.

My reply:

Slanderous? Hardly.

The only references on our Kitelife forum are within the realm of public opinion (god bless America) and specific discussions of a 1-to-1 copy like your "would be SLE" which are indeed copies of well known, reputable products that have been on the market for well over ten years, with no firm references to copyright or patent... Fully within our legal rights.

Instead of offering a legitimate and original product, your company (or the one you're buying from) has elected to offer obvious copies of a reputable product in order to capitalize on the reputation developed by Revolution over the past 20 years... As an independent business and leading promoter of the kiting industry and community, we only take exception to the 1-to-1 or "mirror image" copies.

==

Our forum welcomes fair USER review of all kite products, most of which are from companies who do not sponsor our site...

http://kitelife.com/...6-kite-reviews/

We (and our users) do however take exception to those which are obviously "mirror" copies of respectable products made by other companies.

==

Your web link is a cheap, poorly done attempt to slander a number longtime, reputable and privately owned forums who are comprised of the international kiting community community at large, ultimately it makes no difference to us here at Kitelife... There is nothing for you to investigate, which is why eBay has been all too happy to remove a number of your listings lately.

Threaten and slander any further, and we'll be able to escalate this into the proper legal arenas where it should be.

Who know who, where and what is behind your business too.

There is no one "behind" our Kitelife forum, it is privately owned and operated as we see fit.

Remember, we're dealing with a company who deals *strictly* through eBay and doesn't see fit to publish their direct contact information, which says measures about a company's operating standards... Had to pull that info from their domain records online.

Wowwwwwwww. I have no words, John. :( I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble.

I just thought it was cheeky of the seller to be asking such outrageous prices for damaged merchandise. I had no idea...

Nah, you caused no trouble... The seller in question has a longstanding habit of trying to bully longtime kite designers, contributors and communities.

THERE IS NO INVESTIGATION

His little 1-page site stating such is simply a bullying tactic, a ruse to discourage and defame those in the right...

Apparently Bob Childs and myself stand out in their minds as two primary instigators (translated: advocates).

I'd be honored, if it weren't such a farce.

Another interesting, supporting note...

Screen shot 2010-03-22 at 11.40.54 AM.png

The buyer who left a comment is just a flier on the GWTW forum with no kite business affiliations, he bought, wasn't happy, *fought* for a refund, and then received a counter comment stating some very clear untruths in shallow defense from the seller... Although I don't know him, my thanks go out to sthorsen44 in light of his "taking one for the team" in a [kiting] community sense.

so the auction noted in post #1 is a sham sale?

and for the price of a 'bay listing,

the sham seller gets to throw dirt on the rev products IN his listing?

so very likely the sham seller doesn't even HAVE the products listed for sale (at a total price that is NOT out of line for 2 new kites) ?

isn't this sort of stuff reportable to the 'bay cops?

John,
I actually made him a serious offer. I asked him if he would take 2 of his "better" kites in as new condition plus $1.00 for the 2 damaged Revolution kites. He has barred me from bidding on his offerings now...LOL

I've reported his listing, sent an email to eBay, and had a phone call with them as well today.

Item reporting is the only method they'll really accept, although my call was filed and added to the report.

Thanks for the email about this Charly, that was the first I'd seen of it. ;)

If not for it being a sham, I would say investigate away. I am one of those companies with links/advertizing on the sites he named. My products are completely original, and he has not a leg to stand on.............

This seller is interesting. On one listing, he sells some quad handles (he says rev handles, but they are not made by rev), with dyneema line. He says that it is great for quad lined traction kites like the blast and SLE. Since when was the SLE a traction kite O.o

I also noticed that he has a lot of power tool listings. I hope those aren't fake knockoffs, because that could end very badly to use a cheap knock off nail gun.

Hello everyone as some of you know I've been in an ongoing battle with this ebay seller and his practices and I really feel bad that he's now taking pot shots
and some stellar figureheads of kiting. I wish I had answers to the problems but all I can really do is keep our legal department on it and keep on complaining
to ebay and that is what I've done...... As for anyone else who is caught up in the Posted Image I am sorry if we here at Revolution have caused you problems, but
what this has really done is bring into the light how low these folks will go...... John or Bob I feel bad if any of my complaints or actions have caused you
grief for that was never my intent....... The good side to all of this is the the world can now really see what many of us have known for ages that there
are people and companies out there who will stop at nothing to destroy both our products and good names and in the end what do they get " nothing",
because right is right and nothing you do can change what is right...... The fight we fight is ongoing and will probably never end but at the end of the day
what I get back out of this is knowing that I am fighting not just for Revolution, but for many people and companies who have been drug thru the mud
by thieves and liars who have no regard for what is right and correct...... Ben Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I don't care if it bites me in the butt, but I reported this slanderous person via ebay just because of the shear audacity of his posting, and his links. It's a sad day when some layabout can do something this low, atleast he didn't have the guts to add the Rev forum to his list of crap postings.
