Ah, another sport the American's are World Champions at because no one else
a) Has ever heard of it before
B) They won't tell anyone else the rules!

As apposed to the English who invent all the good games, teach them to everyone else so well that we then get stuffed at each and every one of them!

I am seriously looking forward to this now. Starting to think about what kites to bring etc. Now, has anyone thought about how you take a picture of 100 revs at the same time.

Also looking forward to it and was wondering if having taken the photograph whether it could be 'photo shopped' to show a consistent kite graphic with colour variations?

What about KAP?

Hello Mario-

How are you, babe?

I will be bringing a KAP rig. Hopefully, the wind/kite gods will be shining enough for the rig to "hang" by itself for "that" length of time!!!

See you soon!!

Oh, that's a good idea. And is anyone bringing one of the cameras you can put onto the kite?

Hi Stephen-

I might also bring my "Rev Head Cam". It's something I rigged up so that a smaller camera sits on someones forehead. It is a pilot's view, totally!!

Now that might lead to some interesting viewing after the event. Where exactly do you look in a MEGA grid?

I have the same idea as Laura. Going to try and put my iPod on my head. It is pretty wide angle so it should get quite a bit, but probably will be shaky and hard to watch.

Where to look is a good question! It's tough because you do want to sneak a peak and check out everything; while keeping an eye on your kite at all times.

Do you remember the actor, Marty Feldman? He has those crazy eyes that go in two different directions... might be useful here!!!

I'm sure there will be ample video of this event!

See you in a couple weeks.

I think Terry is insulting us saying we have big heads so he'll need lots of tape to mount all the cameras....

The guy with the Helmet Cam went to way too much work. He should have watched the Cap Cam video first. No reason he could not attach to the helmet the same way.

If the hat or cap does not want to support the camera pointed in the desired direction, a simple "L" bracket made from sheet aluminum, mounted under the bill and behind the crown, held in place by the screw holding the camera should do the job.

Looks like a fun thing to pursue.

Where to look is a good question! <snip>

Peripheral vision is as good as it will get I suspect.

The visual feedback is basically essential. Look what happens if you focus on the wrong kite and wonder why 'that other flyer' is falling out of the sky? <grins>

I am guilty of that, way too easy to do. Maybe a reminder at the time of the attempts is to say "Look at your kite only!" and "Use your peripheral vision to place yourself accurately within your group."

At least I hope the person beside me will elbow me in the ribs and whisper that in my ear if I start getting air headed again.............
