The places I like to fly are:
Anchorage City Church ... in their soccer field. I'm here every day in the Winter.

Alaska State Fairgrounds ... Several good spots there.

Cuddy Family Park ... Just gotta watch out for dogs here, but very popular kite spot.

Delaney Park Strip ... The wind has to be from the west here.

And my personal favorite unless there is a North wind is:
Carr-Gottstein Park ... About a 2 block hike in, and not a lot of space, but gorgeous at sunset! Not a good winter spot though.

Believe it or not, we have quite a few kite fliers here in Alaska. Some of us even fly in the winter. I, personally will fly in anything but rain, so most of the people in the club think I'm a bit nuts. -35f is my cold record for flying, and I don't know if there are any other rev fliers who will come do that with me, but I'm a bit obsessed with it anyway...
