Coming up in June, but never too late to generate some interest.

My buddy Mike photographed the 2009 festival on the first day. Here is a link to his Facebook Album featuring some of his shots. Hope you all enjoy them.

For 2010 it would sure be fine to beat the 2009 record of 11 Revs in the air for a "mega" fly. I'm curious who might be interested in attending?

I more than likely will be having the Saturday BBQ at my place again providing my yard isn't ripped up with the beginning of a landscaping project. Of course members of this forum are welcome to attend.

I just got the official word yesterday that you guys are coming up! Excellent.

Doesn't sound like Island Quad will make it this year though which is too bad. Still hope to get a record number of kites in the air that weekend though. A bit shy of even 11 kites with the current count, but getting closer.

I'll be in touch with you guys.

They didn't have a catagory for "local hack"... Posted Image

With any luck the "celebrity" part of it will let people know there is someone locally flying so they don't need to be out there alone or just letting that Rev sit in the closet because they didn't manage the learning curve well. If just one person comes out of the woodwork because of me being in the program it is good.

I do not consider myself to be a celebrity in any sense, just one of the locals who happens to fly a kite more often than one weekend a year here.

Still working on the Vancouver trip. I need to start making some calls to see if I can arrange some travel or it will be too expensive for me this year with WSIKF also on the radar.

For anyone considering making the trip the list of flyers has been updated.

Another good year shaping up with a lot of flyers, from all kiting backgrounds, coming in and more to be added.

Of special interest, for this group especially, this year 180GO! is coming to town! Mike was here two years ago, but this time he's bringing along the team!

This is coming up very fast now. Less than three weeks away now.

I'm just finishing up the plans for my annual BBQ for my Rev friends on that Saturday after the festival and before the evening entertainment at the grounds.

If I have not already been in contact with you please let me know if you are coming to the festival so I can then finalize the guests for the BBQ.

Right now it does not look like we can beat the local record for 11 Revs in the air at once, but I know there will still be fun to have with those that are attending. Any group flying will be welcome for me since I am still very skittish having any other kites near me in the sky. I'd like to overcome that fear before WSIKF.

Bart
