Erg, one small hang up... Only works on images uploaded now>forward.

Researching a rebuild on past uploads, will let you know what I come up with. ;)

Anything posted from here forward will reflect these specs:

$max_width = 900;
$max_height = 700;

Sorry, it's all or none... Resize is file-level, so no full size after the fact.

End of the day though, it would save a lot of server space. :)

==

I'm still working on this...

Ideally, I'd like the lightbox to auto-resize for your screen resolution but retain the full image dimensions in the file.

Grrr... Okay, I had second thoughts about not having full size images available (useful sometimes)...

It's now back to opening in a new window which I don't like, but it seems to be the happiest medium for all involved.

Any arguments on this?

I'm starting to get annoyed.

The forum has once again forgot me from a day and a half ago and even topics I have not read one word in jump to the last post of the topic when I click them so I need to jump back up to the top to start reading.

I normally go into the forum from the topics listed on the main page. It is rare I read any that have dropped off the top 10 lists. I don't use the clutter on the right side of the screen at all.

While I can fully understand the need for updates for security it really makes no sense to me why normal things that worked before aren't standard on anything new. It's not rocket science to keep basic functionality and not take a step backwards.

Hey Bart,

I really hate to tempt the computer gods, but none of those things are happening to me. My computer logs me on in the morning when it's booted up. When I surf/resurf through the threads, it takes me to the first unread thread. I mention this 'cuz I'm wondering if something in your computer isn't causing the interface problems. Remember I'm road kill on the information highway, so just roll your eyes and ignore me if it's an obviously ignorant question.

Cheers,
Tom

IE6 to IE7 at work, but IE8 at home well before the board update and it worked fine on the old board.

I am back to a full slate of topics on the main page now. Tomorrow, who knows.

I am sure this is caused by a setting on my end, so here it goes. When I click on a picture thumbnail, it opens in the same window. The problem is, I forget and close the window! This has given me more than one "Doh!" moment. Is there a setting I need to change so it opens in a new window? (IE8 user)

I seem to recall that somewhere with some browser. I would suggest that you Goggle it.

You can address how links are handled with a new tab or window, but I do not believe it works on photos. I have the same issue with photos opening in the same window and double checked my settings.

I am positive that the photo has to be set up to create a pop-up or it's own window or tab on the programming end of things.

I think you're right bart, I've put in a feature request with Invision (IPB), hopefully they (and their other clients) will see the benefit.

I've asked for BOTH auto-resizing in lightbox, and for the other way (as we have now) to have images to open in a new tab/window.

IPB staff responded positively when I brought it up in their support channels, so now it's gone in on a public (popular demand) level so we'll see what they do. ;)

Am I missing something here or has the PM service been down-graded it this upgrade?

I have just tried to send a PM and was unable to find any of the formatting that is available when composing a post, there is no CC or preview facility.

If you do the "quick click" PM from my profile at left (here) or by going to my profile, that's true (sadly), no formatting tools (although bbcode works).

If you go to your messenger system through your profile link far upper right and compose a new message, adding someone's user name, it's the full meal deal as usual (and better).

Ya ya, I know... It is what it is for now.

This forum just simply won't function on AOL.
Scott and I have discovered that we have to reduce AOL and access the forum through IE8.
Kind of a PITA but doable.

Sorry about that, but AOL is renowned for such issues.

Do a Google search for AOHELL sometime. :)

Thanks John, got that I didn't realised that was where the PMs were hiding, I was looking for them soon after introduction of the upgrade but somehow it didnít seem appropriate to ask when it was all going so well.
