Today Big Al, aka USMC Al, and I were all by our lonesome at LSP......( Laura blew us off!) and it was a incredible, Zenderful day. Since Al was without ZEN (story for another time) he took some time to get to know mine.
Following are some Camera phone snaps of Al enjoying himself. (Big Kid Grins on Al's face all day!)

Nice Rich,i think the second one from the end[left ta right]is realy kewl and arsty.Black and white almost,with a tint red haze.Makes the kite jump out

Ouch Rich, that's harsh!!! lol .... it's not often that I have to "blow you guys off".... things do come up, once in a while.... and they did and I couldn't make it out 'til later on. By 1:30 ish, you guys were leaving or I would have gone then.

Didn't even see the "1.5 inside Zen" perspective, that's cool!

No team Zens yet, but they'll be along before too long I'm sure.

Damn I'm tired... We just rocked South Padre Island this past week, got a SMOKING new 6-person routine that'll blow your mind.

Best choreography we've ever done, just tightening up the timing and flying now.

A simple ghost design. It was very hard to decide between the ghost, the blue fade and something custom, but since the first photo I saw was of the ghost I guess that sort of stuck in my head.

The thing looks like a mirror ball as it spins.
It also does the same effect on any other single colour sail. You got to love Icarex!

Why the black stitching on a white sail?
On one of the prototypes I used white thread.
I didn't like it. The panels lost edge definition.They appeared "visually soft " at the end of the flying lines.I could see a difference that I didn't like. The overall picture looked wrong.
I feel that the Black stitching ties in with the overall picture of the kite. The black leading edge. The black end caps. The black bungees and of course the black carbon. Not to mention the black mesh and reinforcement pieces. Can these all be made white...............I'm sure in some world they can be all white but not in mine given the supply of materials I have to work with.

The bottom line is quite simple...............
I designed it.
I like it.
For those who feel it is wrong...well that's your opinion and you are perfectly entitled to it.
As am I in my choices.

That is what makes the world such a wonderful place.Everyone has a voice and opinion.
Who you choose to listen to is entirely up to you.
Just thought I would give my reasons to "why the black thread."

I know it's just not the same. But a simple piece of plywood on a rainy day at Delta would be close. Wear some Cork's (loggers boots) if the dogs have been out and see how many people see all the floating logs and put 2 and 2 together. Just a thought

You're reasoning makes perfect sense. I don't think all white would be a good. Need the contrast for definition.

I really did like the first Zen photo with the ghost. I have it set up right now in the house actually. Waiting for spring to get here.

It is a case of being spoiled for choice. If I had cash for two the second would need to be the blue fade version. Since you already made my pro with three blues in it, though, I decided to stick with my first love and not have somewhat of a duplicate with another blue.

Bazzer black is the only way to go the way it defines each panel is truly what gives the ghost its effect! I absolutly love mine. I set it up at least every other day just to admire! Now i'm going to go figure out how to get that video off my blackberry.
