WOW

What can I say, there are not enough superlatives to describe The Flying Squad's new SUL Revs. A huge thank you to Los Hermanos and Revolution for making these kites happen.

We picked up the new kites at Portsmouth and as they were SUL kites the wind was strong all weekend. However, we got a chance to fly them on Monday and they are amazing. The light wind range on these kites is jaw droppingly good and the single piece skin gives the kite a responsive feel that anyone should be happy with. Add to that the fact that they look stunning then you can tell why I am so happy.

I have attached a photo for you all to look at and the original graphic so you can see some of the detail. The design is inspired by the beautiful Twister kites that Bazzer made for us last year (thanks Bazzer) and when you get up close you can really see some amazing details. Step back down the lines and you get a strong pattern that really stands out.

We will hopefully get some more air time on them soon and we can feed back in a little more detail on how they fly but if you fly in light winds and you want something special you could do a lot worse than get one of these.

Revolution have really pulled off a coup by getting together with these guys and I love it! (can you tell?)

Hi Stephen,

But can you tell us about that //X in the picture on the left, it doesnt seem to be on the one on the right or is it

Or is it that you only see it from certain angles and it's kind of a hidden feature :blue-love:

Did you mention we ALL like them A LOT !!!

Ohhhh, it's there Simon, it's there.
I hadn't noticed the mark when I started drooling the first time. :P Maybe I need some kinda drool damn.....

So I'm curious.... is this just a personal mark on your own sail, or maybe like the signiture of the design artist??? Do you all have your own mark?

This being the 3rd kite I've seen with a mark, it's tempting to figure out something of my own.

Curious.....

If you take a look at the graphic file you can see what the full kite design is. Through some cunning and clever printing technique I don't fully understand (let's just call it magic) Los Hermanos have been able to print a water mark onto/into the kite. There are lines on both left and right of the kite which are almost invisible from head on (see Simon's photo) but that show up clear as day from the side. All I know is that I love it.

It took a while to design the skin which is one reason that we have 6 the same. However, with the printing process it is possible to have any variation you like even to the extent of having your name (and contact details) printed on the kite discreetly if you prefer. Mr Mitchell will be able to testify how long it takes to perfect the design and stop thinking applique but it is well worth the effort. Just for interest the final design was number 13z! I have attached a picture of some of the ones that did not make the grade. Did we make the right choice?

One tip for anyone designing their own sail, use darker and richer shades than you think as they work much better when the kite is lit from behind.

Nah, I much prefer to lug 4 full Rev bags everywhere I go! It saves time on going to the gym.

OH that is such an understatement!!! And its WAY past 13 designs nearer 130 !!!

At one point I even had Luca and Daisy creating designs, its great when you think a 6 year old just works so far out of teh box on designs. But Stephen said that we cant fly PINK kites this year :blushing:

Good luck to any one wanting a kite, as Stephen said you can have anyting on it... Just think a 6 stack where the design moves left to right as the stack extends

Or like Jonesey suggested create a big logo then cut it across 4 kites.

Or...

Nice kites FS !!!!!!!!

Cant wait to see them !!!!!

Guess it will be Scheveningen ................ Who of TFS is coming to Scheveningen this year ???????

Bye bye

Marc

It's not the size of your Rev.. its how you use it.
Seven days without flying a Rev makes one weak.
