Good handles, well finished, good grip, are very well.

Found the grips a little fat for my delicate little fingers so turned them down on a lathe this afternoon to match my finger size/spacing ...... looking forward to try them tomorrow and find how much I really move my hands up and down the handles!!

Ooo nobbly !! ........I must say the large grips are probably partly my fault as I didnt like the thin ones Baz had

I Dont know the length of them,but i think ther Top Heavy Looking.The balance point position will be intresting and wher your hands sit to find it.Anyone Used them in a Big Wind yet .

Bri .. good point about the balance position but tested them today ..... very happy ... suit me anyway ..

Mind you my kites are so light you can hardly see them let alone feel them ...

Received a blue pair of the ultra no snag handles yesterday.
Put the foam on the preferred position after some little advice from my friends.
New pigtails to finish them.

A short session this afternoon......Mid-Vent/Race Rods....very very nice, i like the thickness of the foam (thanks Gary !).

I Received a pair of red handles a while ago , they are great .
All my Revs are in red/black , the color matches perfectly.

this is the latest addition to my handle collection
will I ever find them if i fly on grass and put them down ! ! !

Now i know someone that has a thing for Green even bought a Green car to match his kites ....Me I just luv my Purple ones...oh and the Blue...the red anit bad ....as for Gold well

Haven't used the standard handles since I got mine....just no going back.

Nice one Baz - so you can do separate port (red) and starboard (green) handle sets now - maybe that would reduce the number of "no, the other right!" calls heard on the field...

Thinking I'd like to try making some handle sets like yours. Did you use Gr. 6061 aluminum rod or something else, and how did you "handle" the polishing and anodizing?

I can come by the handle stock fairly easily but will need to take the rod sections to an anodizing company to do for me, and I'm curious what to tell them to do. Is bending the rods after anodizing a bad idea?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Liketofly
In England we have T6 6082 3/8" diameter rod
the polishing was done on a bench grinder with polishing mops and soaps
anodising was done professionally - to preserve the shine they were anodised with a one minute etch - this doesnt eat into the aluminium too much and keeps the shine
the rods were machined and bent,then drilled,polished and finally anodised - I wouldnt recommend bending AFTER anodising
