The Revolution crew were at the San Diego Kite Club meeting today with their latest creation.
Revolution said I could talk about!
Ben says they will be accept orders for ZEN somewhere around the end of this month.
What is ZEN?
ZEN is the latest in the REV series. As I understand it, it is designed for the low 1 to 3 MPH wind range and I believe it after flying it.
It appears to be a cross between a REV I and REV 1.5 JB Pro. I would say it is a REV 1.5 JB Pro scaled up to a REV I size. It has the same panel layout as the REV 1.5 JB Pro. The rods used are still a secret, however I could imagine that they are in are in the area of the Race and Silver Bullet rods.
It is not designed for higher winds or tricks as I was informed by Ben when I started to give it a workout.
How does it fly?
The sail loads constantly in all parts of the wind window just like a REV 1.5 JB Pro, with less wind. As expected due to it's size, it is slower then the 1.5.
In comparison to a REV I, it is much quicker responding. Precise? You thought the REV I was precise. This beats the socks off the REV I.

JM hit it right on the head, this kite is SUPERIOR for light wind and precision.
Also, for those with limited mobility, the B-Zen will be a blessing in low wind.
iQuad has flown the B-Zen exclusively in 3mph or less since Bazzer finished our full set.
Come try one at WSIKF, we'll have 'em.
I have killer pics from Brookings a couple weeks back, but can't post now because I'm on the iPhone in Colombia, but I emailed a good one to Monkey, perhaps he can post it?

man that looks like a b series version of my ghost witch is also a sweet light flier .. i have had it out in thes wind speeds .from 0 to 6 mph it is a blast.. look in my pic album if you want to see it in the kitelife forum

Will other frames be offered for this kite that will bring the range up to say SUL standards, I like the idea of a rev 1 with more meat in the middle area and the panel layout I'm sure helps a lot.

I don't have a clue! I think at this time only Ben knows what rods are possible.
The improvement to the center is something I wanted for quite a while.

I think a midvent Zen by the sounds of it would be my ultimate kite, Seeing as i'm totally in love with a standard midvent with silver bullets already

I have flown the prototype, and did my first ever bicycle turn with it. I am glad to see the cover finally get blown off this one, I can now take the zipper off of my lips.......
In the photo with JB and Bazzer, (the one that looks like John is lost holding the handles upside down) Bazzer is flying the Zen prototype with 15 inch pro handles I made special for him.

What can they "do" in light wind besides up/down/left and right? As in, is this another case of having to do a lot of moving around the field to get even a little bit out of it? I can do that now with the B in some light winds, but it isn't exactly much fun.
Convince me there is something here that makes very low wind flying less running around and/or more enjoyable than just doing the basics. All from a standpoint of amateur skill.

OH my! I had a chance to fly the prototype at the Long Beach Rev Clinic. Flies VERY nice with lots of pressure in the lightest of wind. How much will it cost me for a custom matching my B-Series?

I think that light coloured sail in the first picture looks fantastic.
I am always being shown what a tight family Rev is. There must have been SO many folks wanting to talk about this new Rev, not a whisper on here till Ben gave it the go ahead.
I am sort of wondering if 2 Rev bags with a bit of waterproofing, held up by SLE's would make a suitable replacement for my house.
Talk about a Rev addiction.
Just had to edit on this one, a picture of Ben in a blacked out car with thumping stereo and bouncing suspension. "Supplying" Revs to all the addicts. iQuad all blinged up as his body guards. The thing is of course, I think we would ALL be in the Q.
