Was yesterday. Did anyone attend? Got pics?

From the vid shots on TV it looks like the winds were strong and steady.

I ran around shaking hands, petting the dogs, hugging the children and complementing the ladies all day, so no pictures from me. But, it was great weather and a surprizingly large turn-out on the mall grounds for Saturday's 41st annual Smithsonian Kite Festival.

If everyone had as much fun as Bob Lauder though, it would still be going on Monday morning. Bob's so smooth!,... he sets-up in little used corner INSIDE the competition field, then flew his Tirips quads all day for thousands of spectators. His kites were worthy of entry and personally hand-crafted, but he's havin' way too much fun to go get in line.

The winds weren't overly powerful or swirling too badly, considering the location.
