We used to use Armor-All on Spectra linesets to restore the "slickness".

Does anyone else do this? Any other options?

I'll have to try that. Armor all should not hurt the line. Did you spray the line while it was on the handle and work it in with your fingers?

I like using sandpaper on John's lines just before a comp.

I -almost- filled his indoor rods with sand this weekend for april fools however.

Try the bullets from .22 shells next time. They fit perfectly inside 1/4" rods.

Which Armor-All product did you use?
When I was competing I used silicon spray! I sprayed it into a small rag and pulled the line through it.

I just used regular Armor-All, sprayed it on either a rag or a sponge and ran it down along the lineset.

This is interesting... Has anyone tried Armour All on Berry Blue Lines? I have a lineset that is a little gritty, and I've washed it once which helped for a while. But I don't want to destroy it -- anyone tried the Armour All trick before with this brand?

I just cut down a very old line set to 2 small ones. I noticed how stiff and gritty they were and remembered this forum. Got out the Armor-All from the car and wiped down the lines. They feet new now. I havn't flown them yet but they feel slick and soft. I got these lines in 2002 and fly on the beach 100% of the time. I will fly them tomorrow. It will also be my first time with a 40' set.
