Ben and John-
Best of luck in whatever direction you guys take this topic... you know we're behind your efforts.

Bob-
Sorry to disagree with you, all of the reference stuff is great and needed, but, ultimately, you have to get out there and apply it in order to "speed up the learning curve". ... and that's simply putting in the time!

Just my two cents.

Happy Flying, everyone!

Just to throw this out there..... I checked this, and if you search revolution kite tutorials (words in any order), the first 9 things on the list consist of a rev kites playlist, two videos from TravelingLighter, and a bunch of my stuff.

You are correct Watty, I used Rev tutorial as an example, in this world of acronyms, slang etc the thing would no doubt end up being refered to as the "Rev tutorial" or similar which when searched as such produces said dross.
My main point is an upmarket product does not need to have less control over what might be seen as a marketing tool.

http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

This vid purporting to show how to fly a Rev carried a banner add across it advertising Flexifoil kites here in the UK, hardly sound marketing if your product is being used to sell other four line kites, someone must see this as productive else why pay Google to place the add where it is.
DVD and paper at p.o.s. works fine.

Between the growth of youtube and the growing availability of cameras if sooner turns to later someone is bound to make whatever videos are needed.

Rev is the gold standard for precision quads in design and availability of kites and parts. Rev and its dealers stand to benefit from anything that promotes- or makes easier -getting into quad flying.

This is a tough one to combat - it's more about bidding on keywords AFAIK. Ad placement is dynamic, so the link might well change if another advertiser bids more for a keyword and as new vids come on stream. Google obviously want to maximise their click-through revenues. Some things we just can't fix. But maybe it does point to using better hosting locations where advertising is not fully outsourced (e.g. Revkites or Kitelife rather than YouTube).

It was also a curious video and the title for this segment was a complete misrepresentation: more like "Design features of PowerBlast" rather than "How to fly...."

The great thing about the newer videos from JB, Watty et al is that we get what it says on the tin.

I don't think there is any disagreement here, there is no substitute for good practice.
