STOP PRESS

I have just seen on the Spanish Forum http://foro.cometas.info/index.php that they are holding a raffle to win one of four of the new Printed Revs made under licence by Los Hermanos.

The tickets are 10 Euros each and if you win they will make the kite with your design on it. There are only 20 tickets left so if you are interested you should move quickly. This is an amazing opportunity to get your hands on one of these kites for only 10 Euros. That's just under $14 or 9 at today's exchange rate! The winner will need to pay the shipping costs in addition to the cost of the Raffle ticket.

The competition is on a closed part of their forum so you either need to register (well worth it as there is loads of good stuff on there) or you can email the forum administrator direct at miguel@gnomo.net

If you have not seen these kites yet you can see some of the first ones here. The white one with the butterfly wing design is mine and let me tell you that it flies like a dream. The single piece skin makes this kite very smooth and it handles low winds with ease as well as flying beautifully in stronger winds. They are truely unique and even the bag is a work of art.

Just to add to this. The winner will need to pay the shipping costs in addition to the cost of the Raffle ticket.

I'd love to get a couple tickets... sadly, I can't read the website :blushing: . Does anyone know how to change the language for viewing it? (I can't remember how to do it) ... or point me to the exact area where I could buy two. Thanks.

Aye, what Laura said... Not inclined to go digging in through the front page, or to register.

Would buy one if I had a straight shot link though.

The link is: http://foro.cometas....ic,23094.0.html
My Spanish is quite rusty as it has been a very long time since I lived in Spain.
It looks like all the tickets are taken.
You could contact Miguelito(Web Master) directly. If I recall correctly, his English is quite good. You can also ask questions on the forum in English. The Spanish are quite happy to help you out.

Just to clarify my original post "The competition is on a closed part of their forum so you either need to register (well worth it as there is loads of good stuff on there) or you can email the forum administrator direct at miguel@gnomo.net "

You can only see the post if you are a forum member, hence including the admin's email address.

However, as John notes, all the tickets are now taken. I only came across this late in the day and so there were only 20 of the 100 tickets left but a few of us managed to get a ticket. I would be willing to donate my ticket to someone if they are prepared to make a contribution to an appropriate charity. PM me if you are interested.

Regards

Stephen

Hi Stephen-
Thanks for posting this. Was this raffle for a specific charity?

Hi Stephen-
Thanks for posting this. Was this raffle for a specific charity?

As I understand it, the brothers offered 4 printed REVs of each winners design to be raffled.
There is no mention of any charity that I can detect. There were 100 raffle tickets offered at 10 Euros each which comes out to be 250 Euros per REV which so happens to be their special offer price at this time.

Hi Stephen-
Thanks for posting this. Was this raffle for a specific charity?

The Raffle is to help fund the Spanish Forum. Miguelito hosts the forum and does all the work on it but the only way he can fund it is by hosting raffles. I guess there is not much money made after he has bought the kites though. There are no adverts on the site so you don't get bombarded with stuff from Amazon  (other providers are available). It seems to work well and it is certainly a very popular site in Spain for all the kite fliers and buggiers.

My offer to relinquish my ticket is on the basis that I can more easily get another Rev made plus I already have one of the first ones they made. It would be a shame for some one to miss out if they really wanted to get one of these beauties. Instead of paying me for the ticket a charitable donation some where appropriate will get you the number.

I hope this helps. I guess they could have sold the tickets 3 times over but the point seems to be to keep the odds high for the participants. 4% chance of winning is way more than the lottery and people spend a fortune on that.

It looks like raffle tickets 54, 77 and 83 are still available.
If you choose a number you will have to get the money Miguelito immediately, not later today or tomorrow.

All the raffle tickets have now been sold.
I got the last one number 77.
Surprisingly, Miguilito accepted PayPal which made it very easy for me to pay.

Keep a close eye on the raffle.
There are 6 who still have not paid.
If they don't pay quick enough, you might have a chance to get a raffle ticket.

Miguelito is using a very clever way to draw the numbers. He simply uses the last two digits of the daily Lotto at: http://www.once.es/n...n/ultimosorteo/
It erases any possible doubts about who is the real winner. The next draw is at 21:00 MET or 15:00 EST.
