I am trying to track down all of the color patterns of the REV I Classic which followed the Neos Omega. The REV I classic was only made from 1989 thru 1996.
The REV I Classic only had three panels in total. A center and two outer panels. Almost all of the REV I classics had the Black logo and all had a curved logo.
I need to know the colors in this sequence: center then outer color/s. If the logo is a color other then black please indicate that extra.
Attached Image

Please only inform me of colors you have verified. Please no guessing or suggestions of colors.
This is only for the REV I Classic, not the Neos Omega or any other REV.

So far I have verified these colors:

blue - left is red - right is white
blue - neon(hot) pink

I have one in white with teal tips and one teal with white tips. My avitar shows them both.

Dean

I think the teal with white tips was a custom at the time.

I can offer pink and blue as in the attached image. Also a stack for reference. Tom flew it at Bristol 2008.

Looks like (l-r):
- yellow - blue
- pink - teal
- blue - pink
- blue - yellow
- teal - pink
- pink - yellow

Any idea whether the yellows and pinks were hot(neon) pink and yellow?

Looking at the photo, I am pretty sure the last was a neon(hot) pink and normal yellow. I think the other two with yellow where hot(neon) yellow.
I suspect all the pink was originally neon(hot) pink.
Thus to sum up my thoughts, I think they are:
- neon yellow - blue
- neon pink - teal
- blue - neon pink
- blue - neon yellow
- teal - neon pink
- neon pink - normal yellow

a) shouldn't that read 1989, not 1990? My Rev I was ordered from Into the Wind in 3/89 (and delivered in early April) and it's not a Neos Omega...

B) Are you looking for pattern or just color? Obviously you've got pink and purple, and the kite shown in your avatar picture is pink with purple tips; my 1989 kite is purple with pink tips...

The single kite was not florescent/neon pink and was flown at WSIKF 1994 with a pink/teal version as well!

The others were as you suggest.

You are absolutely correct! It is 1989 to 1996. Thank you for the correction.

I am looking for the center color first and then the tips color which in a few cases will be different from right to left tip. The kite in my avatar actually belonged to someone else. My kites had temporarily gotten lost and were detoured back to the Zurich airport where I retrieved them on return from my trip.

Thanks,
John

My digression would be to mention that the link lines (bright pink) were polyester over kevlar...

The stack made the front page of the local (Long Beach) newspaper in 1994. I will have to test the lines again soon.

Are you intrested in SUL Rev 1 sails? I have a least 1 somewhere... Aqua & Pink & another Pink & Aqua, Just cant put my hands on them right at this minute

think we need a colur chart too, so we dont get Teal, Aqua & blue mixed up. I seem to think the Teal & Aqua is slightly different but if you've not seen them side by side you may not have noticed.

John I'm joining you with my anroak now.. Are we talking Carringtons or bainbridge ripstop also As my Blue/White/red seems a diffrent cloth to my older red & yellow one.

Simon, cant wait for the Rev two colours :)

Were SULs sails different? That pink and blue was probably one of those with a light bridle etc!

What is an anroak?

REV I Classic SUL colors are to be included in the REV I Classic.
I found that with the two SULs I had, both had lighter weight material over the standard version.
As for color tables, you could refer to: http://web.forret.co....asp?sort=color
Aqua is cyan. CMYK is 100% 0% 0% 0% RGB is 0 255 255
Turquoise has CMYK 77.5% 0% 6.1% 16.5 RGB is 48 213 200
Teal has CMYK 100% 0% 0% 49.8% RGB is 0 128 128

Basically speaking Teal is a bit darker then aqua/cyan. Aqua/cyan compared to turquoise appear closer. However this could be argued depending on various factors.

For those who are not familar with CMYK and RGB differences, they vary basically as follows:
CMYK is for printing mainly on white. It means Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black
RGB is projected such as your computer screen. It means Red, Green, Blue
The gamut range of CMYK is a bit different from RGB, meaning there are CMYK colors that can't be seen properly in RGB and vice-versa. This is mainly why the colors you see on your computer screen sometimes can not be printed to look the same on your home printer.
Florescent (neon or hot) and metallic colors can not be detected to their true effect on computer screen or TV. Using a home printer or a professional printer that uses only the CMYK colors, they also can not be printed to their true effect. For professional printers they have to add extra ink processing stations with Florescent and metallic colors in them thus increasing from 4 to more colors which is a bit more expensive to process.
For home printers, as far as I know you are out of luck. You must hope for the best and take what comes out.

SUL sails for the early REV I and II were made of lighter weight material. Also lighter was the leading edge material and the bridle being spectra.
Today, I don't think, though I am not sure, there is much difference in the sail material weight.
