I was in that 36, it was a serious understatement of the difficulty that we had. Just as we were launching, Johns radio was losing battery power. Good thing a mike for the PA system was nearby, it was the only way the calls could be heard. I think it should be done that way, as well as radios, so the spectators can hear the organizing that is needed, and what the group is about to do. It also allows the caller to interact with the spectators for more wow factor. I am back home, will be back on Saturday to hopefully get a mega fly count near 50! I had some important business to tend to......

Congratulations on the new North American record!

I was in the last two (28 and then 33). I know it's fun and nerve racking at the same time. I can't wait to see pictures.

My family and I will be heading out first thing in the morning to spend Saturday enjoying the festival. I'm hoping to try flying a Rev for the first time, but I have a kite festival etiquette question for you guys. It sounds like you guys will all be in a roped off area "performing" and the spectators are all standing outside the ropes gawking and taking pictures. So do I just wait for a break in the action and jump the fence (when security isn't looking :-))? Or do I wait for some particular demo time? Or is there a different place that education occurs from the performance flying?

Never been to a festival before and I really don't like making a spectacle of myself. Thanks for the advice. I can't wait for tomorrow! ;-)

Bret, when you walk in the festival on the Bolstad street approach, walk toward the ocean until you are past the main field on your left. You will see all kinds of Revs set up and people sitting in chairs, flying and so on. There is no ropes there, just walk up and say HI! Lolly and Ben from Revolution are there with a special field just to teach Rev flying, and we want to get more people to come over to the dark side........

If it's early in the morning stay away from Ben unless you have a bucket of hot black coffee for him!

Just spoke to Theresa (via cell)... She and everyone else are on the beach and busy organizing a world record 55+ Rev Mega fly... (in approx. 30 minutes).

Everyone, keep your figers crossed for their success on this incredible feat!
Apparently Watty's grandmother will be filming and Watty will be posting as soon as he has a chance!

Dang! I'm excited for them and would give anything to be there!

Just had a call from Cowboy as well about it. I think more to rub it in than anything else, but it should be going about the time I type this.

I would like to be there to see it, but don't think I would want to be in anything that big. Waiting for the photos and video for sure! Have fun guys!

And a personal note to my buddy Paul. You suck.

Don't know Tom......We were number 9 and 10 from the right side, and the line of fliers was over 100 yards long. I couldn't begin to tell you who all was in there.

Don't know Jynx. There were several fliers who were elsewhere due to other events. There is lots going on today on the main field, Parade of Colors etc. It may be a problem getting that space which is certainly needed. It will be up to JB.

Could be. Stay tuned.

Hi Watty,

Gather from some of the other post stat this was all in a line, how come you didn't use theh grid. means you can fly some really nice figures and shapes.

Out of curiosity what did the 50fly?

I think they started in the line. It was mentioned back up the thread that they then moved into the grid...

Interested to know anyway...

Felix
