good customer service?

Our kite club ordered 9 partially assembled customs over a month ago, paid in full, up-front and even provided a FEDEX account number for the additional freight charges, if next~day air should be necessitated.
I needed 'em for WOW's post-holiday party Saturday 01/27/2007.
I called monday checking on the status,.... again on tuesday. Today I heard "maybe I can find out more information about the order next Tuesday, after the tradeshow"
If there was anyone to complain to immediately, I wouldn't go public on their own forum either.
Can't folks just be honest?, .... if it ain't gonna' happen SAY SO, don't jerk me around. I have people that rely on me and now I look foolish.

I had a similar thing happen to me with my latest SUL order, however I was aware of the upcomming trade show and anticipated a delay.
It was well worth the wait for me.
